Okay, here goes... Obviously, I'm fourteen, and I like this guy. I've known him for three years, but we've only started hanging out this summer... That was when I started liking him as more than a friend. And I know he was interested for at least a little bit, because he was asking my friends about me and flirting all the time, and we wen't to the movies with a few of our friends and he let me lean into him and everything. He even called me after. But now, he told my friend he likes someone else, and he sits with her on the bus and all. But I swear he kindof likes me, because he's always really close to me, even if we're working together in school he's like 2 inches away from me! And he always tries to make me laugh, above any of the other girls... but like I said, I haven't seen him when he's with this other girl, and I'm not sure what to think... I mean, if he didn't like her, why would he sit with her and everything?? I'm just confused. Any help?

Sometimes the direct approach is best, just ask. But if that seems too bold for your liking, look for the following signs. Pay attention to your conversations with the person in question.
1) Does this person show a special interest in having a conversation with you and, once started, make an effort to keep that conversation going?
2) Has this person taken a sudden interest in your life and hobbies? This is a sure sign that he or she is interested in something.
3) Other elements of body language include frequent eye contact, holding your gaze and looking down before looking away.
4) Does the person you're wondering about just plain smile at you a lot?
Just remember, take each moment like it will be the last. This I feel will be a good start for you in knowing. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Just ask him out. If you're scared of rejection don't be. You'll have a lot of bf's in life trust me. But how do you know that he likes her as more than a friend? It could be that he's just sitting with her to see how you react. Guys are like that all the time. It's a really big ego trip.

well, like i told someone else earlier. if you dont do something about it, like tell him how you feel...you'll wonder what would of happened if you did! something awsome could happen between you too and you'd never know. and if he ends up liking the other girl more...well his lose and theres other guys out there, im sure you'll find the right one soon. Plus your only 14, take your time!

By what you say, it seems that he likes you. So, have some courage and be daring!! Ask him to his face if he likes you, look deep into his eyes so that you get an honest answer. Don't wait for other people to tell you, he is the ONLY person that will let you know the truth.

maybe he does like you and he's just telling your friends that. or maybe your friends like him too and they don't want you to go out.
