I got the dog in june and she was a perfect dog, except for being a little skidish. She would go with me everywhere, she was comfortable around the race car and she didnt bark. The problem is now 4 months later she barks at my boyfriend(i know she likes him cuz she gets excited when she hears his truck), she crawls under the fence, chews my shoes, goes to the bathroom on the floor right after she comes inside(she use to go outside), and when we are outside she tries to run away. She use to chew on the bedding until i bought a new comforter and she quit. The only person she will come to when she runs away is my boyfriend. she has a large fenced in yard and goes for walks but nothing seems to help the running.I have no idea what to do with her, if i cant get her to behave we may have to get rid of her.

Getting her spayed might help....I know it did my dogs...it seemed to calm them down a little...and it will lower the risk of some health problems later.

It sounds like she finally found out what she can get by with...and is enjoying it to the fullest extent.

The best thing would probably be to take her to obediance classes, and you join too the instructor will tell you how to make sure you become the alpha.

If you can't afford that, or dont have the time then here are some tips.

If she does something she shouldn't, and continues to do it after you tell her 'no' then grab her and force her on her back (I know it sounds cruel, but thats the dogs language to submission) Make sure you keep your eyes on your dogs eyes, don't let her up until your dog FOR SURE rolls her eyes AWAY from you...

Also, only tell her to come if its for positive reason, like a treat, until she truly knows what it means, then if she don't come right away maybe you need to get a shock collar, or just walk her down, once you catch her look at her in the eye and say 'I said come!' drag her by the back of her neck until you get to the spot you last told her to come...she will probably whine while doing it, as beagles tend to whine a lot more :) but its just her complaining, and she is fine.

I could probably write a whole book to you...but I guess that would be kinda boring to read, so if you ever need any more help just let me know wyomingirlie16@yahoo.com

I would enroll her in an obedience class to help you learn to control her better, but also suggest increasing her exercise and metal stimulation. Dogs become destructive if they are bored. There are toys out there to keep her mind active, such as things she needs to work to get a treat out of.

Also keep in mind that scent hounds like beagles can be bad about running away because they get so focused following a scent they won’t always listen to a recall command. Many hounds are incredibly food motivated, so you could always try teaching her if she comes that she gets a bunch of treats she loves. It is really great you have a fenced in yard for her, so perhaps you could see if you could add something in front of the fence in areas- like larger landscaping blocks on the inside of the fence where you likes to dig under that would make it impossible for her to dig a little whole to get under.

. Perfect dogs don't just flame out. An Animal Communicator is your only help to sort out the mess. Humans have very messy, uncontrolled and distored minds, very hard for Animals to understand. You can not hide your TRUE thoughts from them.

The ENTIRE point of a basic obedience class to to teach you how to teach (and manage) your dog. A real class with a real instructor is 100x better than any book/tape/internet advice.

Has she been fixed? If not, you need to get her fixed, that may be the whole problem.
