Why are Muslim Men allowed to show off their Masculinity?

Muslim women are forced to cover themselves to hide their feminine attributes, as the Koran requires, because their feminine ways lead to all sorts of distraction and evils. The Men, on the other hand, flaunt their masculinity by wearing moustaches and beards. Why are Men allowed to do this? Aren't both supposed to be modest in their appearance? The websites that I have visited all claim that Islam is more just in the equality of it's men and women than Christianity and Judiasm. I just don't see that. Can someone explain?

You don't see it in Islam because, it IS NOT THERE. It has never been there and it will never be there. In Islam, men are allowed to take up to 6 wives at ANY age. The false prophet Mohammad actually married a 6 year old girl and had sex with her when she was 9. The Koran also states in Sura 4 (forgot the actualy line), for husbands to beat their wives "lightly". How nice of them! Beat your wives....but only LIGHTLY.

That's what you will get with these Muslim websites. They'll make a lot of accusations about Christians and Jews without any scripture...or a gross misinterpretation of scripture. You really have to go no further than the sick minded terrorist activity that goes on in that religion to understand how ignorant and violent it is toward anyone who is not Muslim and women of all kinds....even the Muslim ones.

Well I don't hear of many men being raped by women because the man was flaunting himself...women are vulnerable in that sense which is why Islam requires them to cover their beauty. The Qu'ran says that women should cover everything except their hands and their faces and men should cover their body from their navel down to their knees. All should act modestly when in the presence of the opposite sex (except family members). I think the woman is quite lucky in a way because she can see the gorgeous guys, but the guys can't see her and view her as a piece of meat...women generally don't view men in that way which is probably why men don't have to cover up so much!

Good Question. its pratical logical simple...

Lets get things clear. Muslim woman are NEVER forced to cover themselves. yep. Ask any covered woman in a free country if Islam is forcing her to do so. Islam says it is a womans wish what she wishes to wear. dressing modest is whats recomended. Wearing a hijab or veil is COMPLETLY voluntary! They aren't forced by islam. they are forced by THE GOVERNMENT! "Islamic governments" inforce such rules in middle eastern countries not realizing that they are taking a womans voluntary rights away. This is wrong but there is little that we can do about it. so sorry, but all free countries like america..you are not forced by ANYONE..maybe the parents but thats just culture and tradition. Muslim woman, like all woman have the right to do what they wish. unless its something bad like fornication, etc..(men are also forbidden to fornicate)

Just remember its totally voluntary..in islam..its the people that force it which is not right.

Dress modest.. not slutty. and you'll be fine. pretty simple.

Guys.. well, the beards and stuff.. thats actually what the prophets usually did. Muslims use Jesus, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Mathew..etc., as their role models in how to be a good person, muslims follow their activties, sometimes even how they dress.. and through verbal history we know the prophets had beards and stuff... it was never an atttraction thing, believe me. just something the prophet did. i didn't think you would feel attracted to it. guess somewoman do.. thats cool.

Men also have to dress modest, not revealing clothing, not too tight, not too loose that clothes fall off.

It is all cultural. Most Muslim countries do not require women to cover themselves and neither does the Koran. Do not judge Islam by the radicals in Afghanistan rather I suggest you read the Koran for yourself with an open mind. If you read the links above they make perfect sense...women are required to retain their own self respect as well as the respect of men. As well men are required to respect women. Do you really respect any women who dress like whores or men who abuse women? Neither does God!

Women only have o cover in before U.S. invasion Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia where it is the law for women to cover. Men have to wear shirts with sleeves that reach their elbows and they can't show their belly buttons or knees. The Quran teaches both sexes to be modest and the belief in God is the best dress for a human. If you need the Quranic Passages, i will give it to you ISHA.

PS: for the misinformation from the idiot you can only marry 4 women which they have to treat equally or just marry one woman, women outnumber men 400 to 1 worldwide. uum excuse me when I wear the hijab I get respect and loved for my personality I get agir which is being written on my good deeds every time I wear my hijab. and I get respected for my personality and not for the way I look. its not I force its a blessing. why should I feel insecure about myself like women who don’t wear hijab. at least I don’t have to spend hours upon hours of fixing myself up just to go outside. and who said men can do that. no they cant men can not show from their naval to their knees. yes there is more equality because we get treated better when we wear our hijab. that’s what a christens women did. here is the story lady....

a Christian women was walking down a street one day and some men harassed her by sating things and even touching her. the next day she shaved her hair and they still did the same thing but on that day she saw a Muslim women passing and wearing a hijab not being bothered the christen women bought a hijab and she no longer got harassed by men. so it gives us dignity. so we don’t have to prostitute our bodies and feel insecure. we cover our beauty and who ever loves us loves us for our power personality and dignity.

Full rights to women? I don't agree at all. That's why I'm not Muslim. I enjoy my right to wear what I want.

It is a good question. Personally, I would not be attracted to a man in a beard and moustache so I certaintly wouldn't be "distracted" at all.
