It's due to a decreased level of dopamine from the heavy release due to previous nights drinking.
Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that along with the basal ganglia affects motor control.
Good thing is, dopamine is easily replenished within a few hours.
If too much damage is done to the dopamine receptors through say heavy drug use and or diseases such as Parkinson's, permanent reduction in motor control and stability will be the result.

That happens to me, too. I think it's partly because of dehydration -- alcohol really dehydrates you. It may also because of the alcohol's dehibilitating effect on your body's central nervous system.
Kinda makes ya wonder why we drink, huh?

probably due to your low glucose level, it takes everything in your body to digest that alcohol. Drink something sweet the shaking should cease.
