I have talked to many people in my life already who hate Mormons. Most have never even asked one what they believe. What they know about Mormons they learned from a pastor of a different religion. What I want to know is why do other religions feel so treatened by us? We certianly don't feel threatened by you.

I think you answered your own question.

People fear and hate what they don't understand. I will never understand why people are willing to just take someone's word about what the Mormon's believe rather than asking a Mormon or investigating the Mormon Church themselves. If I wanted to know about a Catholic I wouldn't ask a Baptist. I'd ask a Catholic.

I also think people hate the Mormons because we do not accept many of the "traditional" doctrines of Christian theology like the Trinity, infant baptism and original sin.

Some of the things we do believe in are:
God the father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost.
The Bible is the word of God as is the Book of Mormon. We believe that all people are responsible for their own choices, lives and that God will not force us to be obedient to his laws or commandments. We believe in living prophets and continuing revelation and we believe in doing good to all people. We believe in baptism by immersion and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying of of hands. We also believe that everyone can choose their own path in life. We invite all to come to Christ and learn of him. We ask that you pray and investigate for yourself if our Church is true.

Most people don't like mormons for the same reasons they don't like people who are different politically, racially, or sexually. They don't like what they don't know or understand. The propaganda they may have received about Mormons, as you mentioned, also plays a great role.

There are things to admire about Mormons. Mormons typically are big on family values, hard work, and community. Living in a Mormon dominant area, I know what I like or not about Mormons. Myself, I think if Mormons stuck to the things I mentioned, such as family, work, and community, they're great. However, as an atheist, I do not object to Mormons so much as I object to their irrational beliefs. BUT, I object to those in every religion, not just Mormonism. However, if there is anything that troubles me about Mormons where I live it would be that many of the mormon communities here in the intermountain West tend to be overly suspicious, perhaps even hostile, to outsiders. Otherwise, live and let live

I quite have my very own theories, yet standard maximum quite everyone right it extremely is right. For me, like it replace into already suggested, fake effect and lack of understanding is a key. despite the fact that many don’t think of what we've self belief is right, they're a minimum of open adequate to comprehend the Mormons are human beings too. inspite of the incontrovertible fact that, there are some that think of it’s there venture to disprove each and every factor with regard to the church, even on YA. Many additionally get Mormons mixed up with different religions (proving they don’t comprehend), making the Mormon church seem much greater incorrect. case in point, mistyfan69 (no offense) thinks that Mormons in easy terms have a undeniable volume of human beings bypass to heaven. Sorry, she has the Mormons mixed up with Jehovah Witnesses. Mormons have self belief that each and every can and could bypass to “heaven”, in simple terms on various ranges. In Europe, many think of (or a minimum of theory) that Mormons have been Amish do to three undesirable translations in some Amish based video clips. No ask your self quite everyone seems to be puzzled. next, if there extremely replace right into a real church of Christ in this earth, how do you think of devil might react? He might attempt to break and discredit it. He might embarrass participants making them go away and confuse non-participants to maintain them away. He might recent lies and rationalizations to describe why that church isn’t authentic. In different words, he might do his suitable to end it. The Mormon Church is one if the optimal in enduring persecution and fake accusations. I’ll make it easier to come back to a determination what which skill. yet, now of direction, devil wouldn’t desire you to nicely known that the two, in any different case it’s a lifeless giveaway as too which church is right. So he could poke at different church homes, or artwork his magic n different procedures. you recognize he’s VEY sensible. P.S. I wouldn’t purchase inventory in blue doors each time quickly.

Simple, people often hate what they do not understand. I've talked with Mormons a few times and found them all to be good people as far as I could tell. Plus there are always stereotypes on certain religions and peoples that ignorance may lead most to believe in. My suggestion: If you believe it is the truth, than follow and study it to the death. Ignore what others think or perceive and maybe even perhaps try to educate them. There are much worse things you could be doing with your life than being a Mormon. I wouldn't sweat it.

People (for the most part) are uncertain of anything that's different from what they feel is "normal." The uncertainty is then channeled into hatred or dislike. But, it's not any one religion in particular....it's any and all that are "different." People hate Jehovah's Witnesses. Little do they know, they're actually fulfilling Bible prophecy.
Matthew 24:9: "people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name." It's just one of the signs of the last days.

I look forward to the fulfillment of Psalms 37:10,11: "10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more;
And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.
11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. "

I do not hate Mormons.
I do not agree doctrinally with the Mormons, but I surely don't hate any of them. And I learned from 'real' Mormons. My husband is from Utah. He's been sealed in the Tabernacle and everything.

Plenty of people don't agree with my faith but I don't assume they hate me or my faith because of that. they simply disagree. I have spoken to Mormons and when I can look for areas of agreement but don't mind discussing areas of disagreement as well. It's good to read literature from both sources and I would suggest that God has nothing to hide and would like us to study to show ourselves approved as he said in the bible.

You know the way some people feel about Tom Cruise and his couch jumping- silent birthing antics? Well, that's the way some people feel about Mormons. My experience with Mormons has not been bad, but strange. For example, what's with not drinking any soda (or caffeinated drinks)? What's with not drinking soda, but drinking beer? Another Mormon I knew through the military got a prostitute in a foreign country. It's not that I hate Mormons. . . I just feel that if you belong to a religious group, you should practice what you preach. The whole polygamy thing kinda added 'fuel to the fire' of what people feel about Mormons.

I wouldn't say hate. We are extremely leery of you though because you don't mind lying to try to prove a point. You use Scripture even to try to back this up by saying it is o.k. to lie because Abraham himself lied about Sarah being his sister and not his wife. It is one thing for a person to be misled and we feel sorry for you rather than hate but, when you go door to door trying to pull the innocent ones out for spiritual murder you are no better than Herod's soldiers going door to door killing the babies. I am sure you do not realize the harm that you do but, you do not even take "NO" for an answer.
