You see this a lot in the answers of many questions, whether it be about someone's intelligence, religion, race, body, etc. There are a lot of people who make up for inconsistencies in their own lives by attempting to get a rise through hateful comments. As far as the religion itself goes, there are so many people of EVERY religion that are pushy (i.e. asking you to come to church more than once, their religion is the right one, making someone feel as if they are 'evil', etc.), this also gives many religions a bad name. I know, I live in the bible belt where Christians are abundant. Even though I go somewhere on a regular basis, there are still others who WILL NOT LET UP at all about me attending their church. This is a horrible practice and must stop. Using guilt to talk someone into going will not convert them as much as pushing vacuums door to door in an obnoxious fashion will sell them. People recall these instances vividly, and of course they will relate and project their dislike in many ways. Don't push it, it IS a big deal, but nothing good will ever come of it, when someone is ready, they will become ready on their own. If you know anyone like this, ask them to stop, as it gives us all a bad name.

No one should be attacked and ridiculed. I am a Muslim and I take offense when I hear that "Christians" will be praying during the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims to convert to Christianity. I think the term "Christian" is too general. Just like there are whacked-in-the-head Muslims there are also crazy crazy Christians who make a bad name for the entire group. A Christian who used to be in the Hitler Youth and who is now Pope insulted Muslims recently and everyone wondered what the big deal was. Yesterday I read that an opera in Germany used a prop that was supposed to be the severed head of the the prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him)... God actually is saddened or may be getting a kick out of all his children squabbling over how they worship Him.

Are you serious? Open your eyes and look at some of the stuff that's on here! Some imbecile said several times that all atheists should be killed, and some people agreed with him. That is barbaric! I reported one such venomous rant pretending to be a question. Many Christian fanatics don't ask questions at all. They just preach. That isn't right! All too many Christians shove their beliefs down everyone's throat. My sister, my father and both of my grandmothers are/were such tyrants. Right now, I'm being pestered by two fanatics who evidently want to convert me by e-mail via Yahoo Answers, and there's another e-mail that may be more such stuff that I'll see when I answer some questions. Do you support prayer in schools and want God on all of our money and in the Pledge of Allegiance? That is thrusting your beliefs upon people who don't want such stuff, and it is contrary to the First Amendment that forbids a state religion. George Washington didn't want God or Christianity in the Constitution, and Thomas Jefferson didn't want the Bible taught in public schools. Many Christians try to distort or even deny the First Amendment, and some say all non-Christians should leave the country. Some Christians become quite angry when Evolution is mentioned. They may insult the ones who support it. Christians have many double standards. One is that it's fine for them to spew venom at non-Christians but awful if someone retaliates as such provocation merits. Wake up and you won't need to ask this question.

First off it is not ok to bash any group no matter who they are. There a lot of people who disagree with some of the views that some christians have. While it may be true that they mean no harm christians do a lot of bashing themselves. They tend to say heartful things to and about gays, satanist, polygamisit, and women who have had abortians as well as other groups. I am a christian myself and find that more chritians need to realize that diffrent people live in this world with diffrent belifs and life styles and that they need to just deal with it insted of saying "you can't be that way becuse the bibal sayes its wrong." Thats why people say the things they do about christians.

Grow some resistance, if you are young it is ok, I'll let it pass. If you are old you should be slapped. This world is crule and a person should be able to take mocks and shananigans. And besides people have beliefs that don't make sense to other people. I am an athiest and I have no Idea how you can believe what you believe in. As you probably have no idea how I cannot believe and have faith. Grow a thick shell. This world is rough. Especially now adays.

It is not alright to lash out at anyone because of their beliefs. This happens to many different groups, it depends who is on line. I have seen bashing aimed at Christians, Pagans, Jews, Muslims, Atheist, etc.
There are many nasty comments made on this forum by people of many belief systems. I don't know why people do it, I only know why I don't.

It is the internet; the home of free speech.
People are "attacking" christians because they disagree with their beliefs.
On the same token, why can I not go to the gas station for a pack of cigarettes without some christian following me thorugh the store preaching about god and trying to hand me a little book that convinces me to be a christian? And why when I ignore them do they "bash me" for my beliefs? They bash me for not being a christain, and I mean them no harm, I just want cigarettes!!
When you can't even go to the store without someone trying to push religion on you, you get kind of sick of hearing about it, ya know? I don't have a religion, but you don't see me hanging at malls and gas stations and schools trying to convince people to be atheists!
I guess people who aren't christians "bash" christains for the same reason people who don't do drugs "bash" drug dealers; it may be your choice to do drugs, but does that mean that you have to follow me aronud trying to convince me that I should as well?

what you call hate is just not agreeing with the dogmas of religion, particularly christianity that tries to usurp individuality and stifle human creativity or equality of the sexes
I just call it taking a stand and shining light to those hiding it under a 'bushell'
if I oppose you, you call me an adversary...but that doesn't make me a devil just someone who disagrees
I encourage you to also stand up for what you personally know and believe, share life experiences and try to do so without quoting an edited book full of dogmas and fallacy and inconsistencies
