Do NOT make "the grand declaration".
Since you already know he's going to the dance (and it would be rude of him to cancel on her), don't ask him to the dance. Go with someone else and have a good time.
You don't need to talk to him alone, so just talk to him. Give him a chance to get to know you.
At first, you'll be nervous, but try not to worry about that too much. Just start with "Hi. How's it going?" or other chit-chat.
See how he responds to that.
If he grows to like you, you'll know, and the two of you can start to let each other know how you feel -- but slowly.
As someone above me said, no one wants someone bobbing up from nowhere and dumping a bunch of heavy feelings all over them. It's a real turn off.
Also, realize that, however many "really"s are in your liking him now, you don't really know him, and you are young. He won't be the only guy in your whole life that you like.

Boy that's a lot of questions....ok here it goes
1)Telling him how you feel should just be natural, if you want you don't have to tell him exactly how you feel but instead invite him to do something sometime. If things work out, maybe then invest in your emotional attachment to him.
2)Talking to him by himself should also come naturally, put all jitters aside and talk to him as if he is just a friend. Clear your mind of all thoughts towards him and act natural. If you act nervous, that could make him nervous and not want to talk to you.
3)Like a said, start off the conversation about topics that you can continue of conversation with. If you notice he isn't interested with what you talk about, move on to something else.
4)Once again, leave all emotions aside until you have gotten to him (and he has gotten to know you better). Would you be interested in someone who the first time you meet them spills their guts out to you about how much they like you? It can seem desperate and unattractive. Stick to friendly basic conversation.
5)If he considers you as a friend, that doesn't mean that it can't blossom into something else.
6)Speak with confidence, speaking quietly makes you look unsure about what your saying. Try not to be nervous, your having a conversation not being robbed.
Hopefully this helps you out.

he is just going to think of you as a friend if you dont tell him how you feel. you should find a time to talk to him when you are both alone and no one is in front of you guys to interpret. if you really think you like him that much you should tell him how you feel..you never know if he feels the same way about you. && the dance thing..he's already going with someone else..but thats NOT bad because you said they are just friends. ask him to dance with you at the dance..and maybe you can tell him how you feel there.

Because your a nervous person, you should first find out his telephone number. this way you could make it easy on yourself without having to look at him, every ones more comfortable over the phone. secondly you should find out from friends that both of you know to see if he already has someone. lastly you should be calm ignore him, guys like girls who play hard to get.

don't tell him your true feelings about him. it will be the wrong thing do right now since he doesn't know you and has never hinted that he cares for you. and since he is only Friends with the other girls he isn't committing him self to any one right now. just tell him hi. hello. how are you. break the ice and he may answer you . if not he is not interested'..don't wait till he is alone .. walk up and say hi...

Take a deep breath. Think about what you wanna say and ask him. It's never too stupid to put yourself out like that.
