The people acorss the street from me have a ton of great danes, probably 6. THEY ARE HUGE! and one of them had a bunch of puppies. They use to let the dogs run around the yard without a gate or leash or anything, and the dogs would run into other peoples yards. Someone called the police on them, and that got sorted out. Why they have so many dogs still, i dont know. But now they have a little gated area in their driveway for the dogs. The big dog sits there and whines really loud all day long, and it's really annoying especially since its nice out and my windows are opened. Do you think that's enough reason to call someone on them? And if so, who should i call?

I don't know about where you live, but in my town the noise laws say that ANY sound at ANY time that annoys people can be cause for a warning and then a ticket/ fine if it continues.

If I were you, I'd try talking to the neighbors first, and if that didn't work, I would make a recording from inside your home (perhaps near a window), and document the times when the whining disturbed your peace. After that, I would call the non-emergency police number (it's in the pnone book) and talk to someone there.

If they have six of those in a small little kennel then I would call....My parents have Great Danes....they need room to move around...of course thier dogs are a little older now and all they want to do is lie around but....anyways....they need a lot of room...especially for 6 of them. I would call the local ASPCA or local animal services. they should be able to help....they need room a shelter, water and food....sounds like they are not getting everything they need.

Talk to the neighbor 1st, and ask them to do something about the noise. If the noise is going on all night or is breaking a noise ordinance, then you are not being unreasonable if you call the police. Unfortunately dogs can be loud sometimes.

If the pin is as small as you say then that is not the appropriate size pin for that breed of dog. I recommend you call the Animal control center to report animal abuse or call the police and report them

Call the police. Keep calling the police. Eventually they will tell the owners that they have to find suitable housing for the animals or they will be taken to the pound.

If you're that annoyed, close your window. When you call the police, you're putting the dogs in jeopardy, so if they're well cared for and healthy, and the only problem is that one of the dogs whines and it bothers you, grow up and shut your window.

YES I DO CALL THE POLICE LIKE RIGHT NOW IF THEY CANNOT HANDLE THEIR DOGS HOWLING OR WHINING THEN THAT IS THEIR PROB BUT YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH IT ALL DAY THE POLICE MIGHT NOT DO ANYTHING THE FIRST TIEM U CALL THEM BUT IF THEY KEEP GETTING COMPLAINTS THEY WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

You should..why should you be bothered by them. They chose to have the dogs not you. First thing you have to do is get proof. Don't do anything until you get proof to show someone else. Video it..set up a cam..show the world. Do what you have to do.

Call the A Team or the Ghostbusters or somebody. I'd be ready to complain myself.

in our town you just call the police....it's a nuisance complaint and it can be ticketed but the cops usually have to be called several times.
