i look at a bright light when i feel like i have to sneeze and it wont come out.....i hate the lingering feeling of having to sneeze but nothing happens. The bright light does something to make you sneeze, but i have no clue why.

Looking at a bright light crinkles up your face just like before a sneeze. Your face muscles "remember" (kinetic memory) this just like your body "remembers" how to ride a bike. Thus, you start the sneeze with your facial expression and your body simply finishes the nerve arc.

I tend to believe excess tears from the bright light travel through the tear ducts and cause the sneeze. Cecil Adams has an additional theory.
