weve been dating for 3 years and they still think hes a jerk and hes only dating me for 1 reason......how can i make them believe that if he was in it for that 1 thing he would have broken up with me a long time ago

Well you can tell your folks that your actually not providing that "one reason" and he's still with you - of course you'd have to back that up with your actions.

He needs to prove he's not a loser. People tend to have favorable opinions of those who show interest in them. If you boyfriend were to spend time with your family and pretend to be interested in your family.......your parents would come around.

i dont think there is really anything that you can do....im sure your boyfriend is the only one who can convience them otherwise.if he really cares about what your parents think of him,he will make an effort to let them know he isnt with you just because of that reason
