You have nothing to fear from atheists, they are simply pragmatic, reasoned thinkers who require proof of things before they consign their life and energy to those things.
If you want to be frightened, be frightened of people who think they are the only ones who know the absolute truth of the universe and who are willing to die (or kill) to uphold that belief.

Atheists are the least trusted group in America. Hold on I bet I can find the article....
Robert O'Connor, a sophomore and member of Campus Atheists and Secular Humanists, said he was not surprised by the survey results.
Americans generally are very religious, O'Connor said, and people usually are suspicious about those who do not share the same beliefs.
"People really strongly believe that religion and good morals are one and the same," O'Connor said. "Increasing problems of society - for example, juvenile delinquency - are being blamed on lack of religious value."
Joe Foley, co-chairman for Campus Atheists and Secular Humanists, was not surprised by the results, either.
"I know atheists aren't studied that much as a sociological group, but I guess atheists are one of the last groups remaining that it's still socially acceptable to hate," Foley said.
First-year pharmacy student Amanda Wawrzynia, however, found the study reasonable.
She said she would have ranked atheists at the bottom of the list of those sharing the same vision of American society.
"I would rather have my kids marry someone of a different religion than someone who has none," she said.

Right now I have more to fear from Christians than either of the above. The risk of being affected by an Islamic terrorist attack is statistically negligible. The risk of being affected by the Christian Dominionist movement for an American Theocracy is a lot higher, I think.
Atheists leave everyone pretty much alone, and commit less crime than Christians. Really.

The Muslims. They are willing to go the extra mile for what they believe in by going on suicide missions, killing others etc while Atheists just run their mouths about stuff that can't really harm us physically.

There are individual muslims who one need not fear... But... IMO...islam is the greatest evil facing the world today.
There are athiests that I would fear as individuals...because they are wiling tools of evil... but not all athiests are evil.
