Hey all..I believe I have a kidney infection. I can't really afford to go to the doc at the moment and he won't write me a prescription without going. Does anyone know of anything you can take OTC to get rid of a kidney infection?? Thanks

Obviously a Dr. and prescription is your best bet but since you are not in position you could try drinking lots and lots of water. Flushing the kidneys out sometimes can help. Sorry you are in that position, hope this works for you.

If you think that you are getting a kidney infection start drinking lots of Cranberry Juice. You will also need to drink a lot of water to flush your system out. If it is really a kidney infection this should work well for you but remember drink lots of juice and water. If you cannot afford to go to the doctor because you don't have the money, then go to the nearest hospital. The will send you a bill. Good Luck

first you have to be sure that it is infact a kidney infection, more than likely it is a UTI, urinary tract infection and you can only treat both with antibiotics, if it is a UTI it can lead to kidney infection and then kidney failure. Antibiotics usually work within 24 hours and you must take the full dose to the end about 3-7 days.

Please see a doctor, you can't afford not to, a hosptial stay and a kidney infection are much more expensive.

UTI symptoms, painful burning feeling like you have to void (pee) and then unable to go when you get there. very very uncomfortable and painful.

please help yourself
good luck

If you are positive it is a kidney infection, they all said it; you have to go to a doctor. If you are experiencing discomfort while urinating, try uristat. If the discomfort continues, then you are probably right and need to see a doctor. I thought I had a bladder infection, took uristat, and the next day I felt fine. So, it may just be general irritation. If it is an infection though, don't mess around with that. Play it safe.

infections of any kind require antibiotics. some people say to drink cranberry juice, but it will not clear up an infection and if you kidney is bad enough to sustain damage it can get even more damaged by drinking large quantities of fluid. SEE A DOCTOR. maybe go the the emergency room or an urgent care clinic.

Cranberry extract. At the Health Food store or Whole Foods, buy the one that's not cheap. Avoid any sugar, not even fruit, for a week, other than of course taking the cranberry. Triple the dose on the bottle.

Most definitely you should see a doctor. You shouldn't play around with your kidneys. However, you can give Cranberry juice a try.

Kidney infections can only be cured by antibiotics. Untreated kidney infections can lead to failure and even death. If that's what you think you have, you have to be seen by a doctor.

Go to the Dr., you don't want to ruin your kidney. Or try going to an urgent care clinic and they will bill you. The prescription is pretty cheap.
