all major suppliers use chill frozen dough. its grey and tastes like pap..them white lines you see...thats the oxidising agents... proving agents and whatever else they put in it...
im lucky brother owns a bakery..and they dont chill or freeze their dough...its white fluffy and doesnt go stale in two days...

I doubt it. If it's been frozen, they can't sell it as fresh. Normally, it something was frozen, they will sell it frozen.
They know that once thawed, food cannot be put back in the freezer and that quite a lot of people buy their bread in bulk and stick the extra loaves in the freezer til its needed.

i like bread and that i'm responsible of shopping for more beneficial than i will devour...So freezing it really is the right thanks to shop it...I placed sliced or un-sliced bread in a plastic bag. Then press out the added air... If i will shop for a protracted time, I hide the plastic bag with aluminum foil. regrettably the air steadily migrates through the walls of a plastic bag, so protecting it with aluminum foil is mandatory. Plastic will paintings for lower than a month or 2. at the same time as saved in foil or freezer wrap, bread will be saved intact for 3 or 4 months or perhaps after that aspect, the bread will look after its high quality.....

It is highly unlikely that this would happen. Think about the cost of a loaf of such bread. There is not enough margin to cover the cost of the additional handling, freezing, thawing, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised. I have an idea for you - forget main brand and packaged bread. Go to a proper bakery (in store or high street) instead. you may pay a few pence extra, but it is so much more worth spending any money on.

i work in a supermarket were we make our own bread and its fresh daily, the bread that gets delivered gets returned the folowing day were they turn it to bread crumbs,
but there are some stores that dont bake there own bread but they get rolls and french sticks ready to bake, it would basically be frozen in dough form, not bread form. hope that helped?

Having bought supposedly fresh break from Asdas and often found it to be dry and uneatable the next morning - I have taken to baking my own bread. It's so easy and an enjoyable activity.

I'd be surprised if they did that , because it would take so much away from the original flavor of the bread that the consumers wouldn't buy it. Good Luck ! :)

not much...i worked in a bakery and it was truly fresh...it was part of a store...it was either sold or thrown out on the third day The waste was so horrible it made me cringe..
