Would it just be more than the recommended amount or is there usually a certain number that could kill you?

There is NO way to answer this question with an exact answer. It all depends on the persons size, health, weight, and metabolism. It also depends on the medication being taken. If it's aspirin the amount taken before an overdose might be a higher number than say xanax, percocet, morphine, etc.

Suicidal overdosing isn't a number of pills, it's an act. It's a cognisant attempt to take so many pills that it kills you. Nobody counts pills then eats them, they take enough to know that it will kill them. If you want to suicidal overdose on tictacs, you'd probably eat a few cases (grisly). If you want to overdose on sleeping pills, 1/4 of a bottle would be plenty.

It really concerns me that ur even asking this ? sounds like a cry for help to me--been there, done that, have the scars---it's NOT WORTH IT!! Whatever it is (& it can be multiple things) that seems to be bothering u to the point that ur thinking about suicide, can prove to be overcome w/time & good decisions.

There isn't really a "recommended amount" of pills to kill u! Just stick w/what the bottle says or u could end up having health problems that u would be forced to live w/for the rest of ur life!!

It always depends on the medication.....some pills won't actually kill you if you overdose; they will just make you really, really sick.....other ones can cause damage to various organs of your body such as your heart or kidneys if you don't take enough and if you do take enough you won't know it because you will be DEAD!!!!!

It's not the amount of pills, it's the intent. If someone presents with a history of having take 5 tylenol, but when you talk to them, they wanted to die, that qualifies.

Fatal dose depends on your size and the medication to which you refer

Please call the suicide prevention hotline.Taking your own will never solve a problem. You may also think of the people who love you and how they would feel if they lost someone they love to suicide much less death by other situations. There are many places you can go to talk to someone. You may even go to a family member that you are close to, or your priest, or your doctor, or a close friend of yours that you trust , any medical professional. Please don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You matter to so many people. Everything will work out, just give it some time, you'll see. Good Luck!

it would depend pn the drug itself. some are lethal some are not.
all prescription drugs are usually lethal.

Please don't be thinking about suicide whatever is bothering you today will be forgotten by this time next year. What bothered you last year? You can't even remember.

Suicide is a permant treatment for a temporary condition.

please find someone to talk to. Good Luck

Depends on what you are taking. For instance, you can O.D. on Tylenol but it will take a while because they cause problems with your liver and you could die of liver failure.
