No, that's thinking outloud, which I think often helps to crystalize our ideas.
I think it's only nutty if you start having a full on conversation with yourself as if you were two different people.

I used to live on the third floor in an old mansion in a very colorful neighborhood in St. Paul, MN. I had a very private balcony and people couldn't see me when I was out there unless I was standing up. There was this middle aged white dude who, at least once a week, seemed to be walking around reheasing what he was going to say in an argument with his lover. He'd be walking by himself, at a very good pace, complete with hand gestures. He was a trip!
My mom told me that you're only nuts if you answer yourself. I keep enough cats in the house so if I need to talk to myself, I address a cat.

Talking to yourself is considered "nuts" because many schizophrenics hallucinate voices, which they then respond to verbally.
It's not a problem when you know you're talking to yourself, but when you're answering out loud to questions and statements that are coming to you from a voice in your head, that's when you're nuts.
It's more about whether you control both sides of the conversation, or if you think one side of it is coming from someone other than yourself.
When it's all you, it's basically thinking out loud, or rehearsing.

Talking to yourself isn't nuts, now when you carry on a three way conversation with yourself and then put yourself on hold to talk to your fourth personality then your nuts.

Talk to your self as much as you want it's good for the soul. But don't keep answering your self or you might be loony.
