I'm an active 28 year old girl, about 5'1" and 108lbs. I've never weighed over 115lbs. I've been running for cardio and muscle tone (not weight loss), usually five miles 4 or 5 times a week for the past 6 months. Before that I had run for 3 years, but not even half that distance. I have a healthy appetite, eat good foods and drink a lot of water. My problem is that my behind is still not firm the way I think it should be after all that work. What am I doing wrong?

try adding lunges and squats...you can use canned goods in each hand at first and graduate to gallon water bottles or skip the home weights and pick up a pair of 5lbs at your local sporting goods store...good luck and at 108 I doubt your rear is flabby to anyone who is checking out your walk away...lol...good luck!!

As well as doing regular cardiovascular exercise, you also need to balance your work-outs by doing a little weight training.

You should continue running, but you should also add in a little bit of weight training two to three times a week to work on your legs (and maybe arms). This will increase the muscle in your legs and tone them even more.

There is always going to be fat on your buttocks, as it acts like a cushion for your behind, but you can decrease it a little.

Without adding any weight training, you may eventually look like those Olympic runners on TV (who look like sticks).

nothing wrong. your body just needs that coosh or it would have given up those fat cells a long time ago. i am like you, run everyday 5'4" 112 23 and everywhere but there is firm. its ok and i think it makes women look better with a little bit of toosh.

My stats are very very similar to yours and I as well have a "ghetto bootie".

Like you I also loose weight every place else first.

There's nothing to be done other than butt exersizes.

You gotta hit the weight. Get some dumbbells and start lunging.

Try actually doing workouts that are for your butt. Like specific weight lifting, yoga, stretches, etc.

your glutius maximus (your butt) is a muscle and to firm it you need to exersize it. work it out with weights. go to a gym and they will set you up with a workout for your glutes.
