many religions teach your life is trivial without thier diety
but I have found more meaning without religion
you treasure each day and don't depend on confessionals or men to forgive you or think that takes care of 'sin'
you take responsibility for beneficial and harmful behaviour
you become aware of your self, your own entity and existence as primal and focus point vs looking for a shephard to lead you as a sheep
many successful people found meaning without dieties...
many times they were athiests who people later said were gods or christ like due to actions usually attributed to god or saints
life has more meaning without the concept of an all perfect being ruling over imperfect ants and its who need to be saved or aspire to a next life

The meaning would change, certainly, without any eternal implications. It would mean, of course, that the columbine massacre was no more immoral than killing a fly. All history would be meaningless as well. Reminds me of the book of Ecclesiastes, "all is meaninglessness under the sun." Philosophy of a materialist.
Thank God that it isn't so! Jesus provided the Way and gave meaning to our existence.

Maybe. What is it about a deity that makes life meaningful? Is it purely practical; you have to please the deity or get punished; sort of a food-chain kind of thing? Or is it that you respect what the deity embodies? If so, couldn't you respect these things without a deity (who you have never seen anyway)? Or is it just the respect...you could respect yourself, or your lover, or your car? Tell me something that does make life meaningful, and I can put some pieces together.

Jesus gave me a new meaning of life, but I like this life style. It is basically learning to love one another...takes a whole life time.
I want to be with God forever...so if I just died and did not get to be with God...I would not know it after I die in case if there is nothing after we die. I love my Lord, and I have faith in Him. I have a personal relationship with Him here...s why I would not have it over at the other side of life. It is only going to get better than here.

Nope. I personally think we should strive to colonize other planets just in case a nasty meteor or comet destroys earth. That project would give a great deal of meaning to many people, and hope.

As a deist, i trust that i'm no longer needed in any respect to God--he/she/it would not watch my each and every bypass, reward or punish me, or choose me to verify his/her/that is existence. I admit that i do not realize all of what God is--i don't believe of that is accessible to. yet i attempt to stay a existence of gratitude in course of although rigidity ordered the universe and gave me existence and allowed me to evolve sentience.

There is no such thing as "meaning" in the universe, other than that meaning which we create. With or without a diety, there is no meaning unless you create it yourself.
