Take what you have and make it different. Move your furniture around. Make art out of tissue paper, old drawings, magazine cutouts, or old pictures and hang them in picture frames. Cut shapes out of contact paper and stick on the walls or furniture. Dollar stores like Dollar Tree and Dollar General have cute things for only $1. Buy some little nick nacks to add something new to your room. Buy an inexpensive bag of beads, sequins, shells, etc. and hot glue them to picture frames, mirrors, or lamps. Go to thrift stores and flea markets to hunt for cheap treasures. The possibilites are endless. The main thing is to be creative. Let your imagination run wild and know that you don't have to stick with one specific theme. If it all flows together, then it will look great.

Paint the room a color you love and you will automatically like it more.Paint does not have to be expensive. New art on the walls may make it more interesting and since you can't afford to buy....beg! Visit some travel agencies and ask what they do with the travel posters when they are done with them. Maybe you can get some free. Same with movie theaters...it can't hurt to ask!! Ask relatives if they will consider you before they throw any pictures away and let you go through them...even if you don't like everything about a picture, sometimes a different frame or a mat will change its whole look. Frames are cheap at thrift shops and you can paint them to coordinate with your room. Dye your bedspread and curtains. Lastly, a healthy, leafy real plant can do absolute wonders for a bland room. Counting the plant, this room makeover could cost less than 30 dollars.

Paint the walls either gold (Laura Ashley Gold 3 is nice), or a rich red, and go with some jewel-tone accessories which you may already have. Painting is an inexpensive way (relatively speaking) to dramatically change the look of a room.

try rearranging -- its free and can give you a whole new look. Also look around your house for things that you may be able to use in your room too.

If you have four jobs, when would you ever have time to spend in your room, except to sleep?
