Best shampoo I know is Graham Webbs Back to Basics line.
They have a variety of shampoos for different types of hair and it is so concentrated a little bit goes a long way.

Honestly? i've used several different shampoos over my whole life, and my hair doesn't seem to care. It's all the same. You might as well just buy what is cheapest.

Sunsilk for brunettes. It's got those shimmering tones in, and even smells a bit like chocolate!
