Chicken pate on wheat crackers is good with a light rose'.

A hearty smoked beef on rye toast rounds is good with a red wine.

Miniture shrimp and lemon kabobs are good with a white wine.

Mellow light brie is excellent with a fruity wine.

Go to your local grocery store or M&M Meats and pick up a variety. I like having the phyllo wrapped hors d'oeuvres as well as meatballs, cheeses. You can get a wheel of Brie that gets heated up and serve it with breads or crackers as well. Make sure you have a variety of things with meat and with veggies if you have any non-meat eaters attending.

In terms of dessert, maybe some fruit or small pastries. Are you having a birthday cake?

an array of fruit. some cocktail sausage. With those toothpicks. And a birthday cake. I make a Fish Dip that's good. Smoked salmon, Sour cream, Mayonnaise. Salt spices. This makes a wonderful dip for crackers. Maybe a cheese ball. all covered with nuts.

Alton Brown on Good Eats (Food TV) did a show on cheese. In it he gave tips for serving cheese at a party. You can probably find the episode by exploring www.foodtv.com and get the cheese arraingements. He said to limit the offerings (I think to four). Check him out!

wonderful light dish - mix red & green grapes, feta cheese, walnuts. Drizzle honey or brown rice syrup over top and blend into mix. Goes well with sauvigon blanc or a pinot grigio

I actual have been to church homes that use real wine. it somewhat is not unlawful, through fact it somewhat is a non secular appropriate. lots of church homes do besides the undeniable fact that use grape juice, through fact it is extra low-budget and it is consultant of the wine (that's surprisingly sufficient consultant of Christ's blood)... purely as some church homes do not use real bread, yet those little wafers.. to boot, alcohol isn't sturdy for you. we don't ought to drink it anymore through fact it is secure to drink the water. besides the undeniable fact that some church homes nonetheless sense it needed to apply real wine and bread and there is not something unlawful or incorrect with that. they're of their eyes being extra observant.
