Is this an all the time or a once in awhile thing?? I have an 18 yr.old and a 12 yr.old daughter. Many times, both girls have invited me to go with them and their friends. When we all go together, the girls get to say where we go, what we look at, where we eat. Some of the best times I've had with my girls have happened at the mall. Give your Mom a chance. Take an afternoon and go out with just her and you. Show her some of the stores you like, see a movie, have lunch. It will make your mom feel wonderful and I bet in the end you will find she isn't nearly as embarassing as you think. PLUS..my daughters can almost always get more money out of me when I am with them than when I stay home! While wanting more stuff shouldn't be the reason you agree, it can certainly be a happy side effect!

Go 2 the mall with your mom. Hang out with her, you'll have plenty of times 4 your friends. Make it a great day. One day mom is going 2 leave this earth. You are going 2 wish that she was still here. At least you'll have a memory of the day you n mom went 2 the mall.

I'm sure she will understand if your honest with her. It will hurt her feelings only because her baby is growing up. It is so hard to watch your baby grow up before your eyes, and even harder to let go. She will always see you as her little baby, and please know that there is NOBODY in this world that she loves more than you. When you have kids you will understand, but please, spend as much time with her as you can. My mom was killed by a drunk driver when I was 13, and I wish I would have spent all the time with her I could have. She wont be around forever, but she will love you forever. Maybe you could suggest something different to do with her if you don't want to hang out at the mall. She will take what she can get.

Consider yourself lucky! At least your mother wants to be with you!
Let her come to the mall with you! She may not want to go all of the time but when she does remember you cannot get this time back with her! Enjoy her company!

Why in the world would you want to be seen with the very person, that changed your first diaper, fed you looked after all your needs and probably gave you the money to go to that exact same mall. You have to wonder at her nerve, I mean she is your MOTHER ewwh

Han - is that you?

JK - my daughter won't go to the mall with me either (esp. on Friday or Saturday nights). You must be in middle school.

Go with her on Saturday morning when all your friends are sleeping.

Just remember, your mom loves you and you don't get these days back. (lost my dad and miss him lots).

Why not? I am so far away from my mom. I wish we could go to the mall together.

Be honest and mature. Just say to her you have something important to talk about and sit her down. Say that it is important that you find out who you are as an idividual and having her there, all you are is her child. Tell her you would love to still do many things with her but let you go by yourself a few times.

Then tell her you love her and give her a big hug.
