I'll quote from my clinical oral pathology book.
"Natal Teeth are diciduous teeth (baby teeth) that are erupted at birth. These teeth may create nursing problems because the infant may place the tongue over these teeth while nursing. These prematurely erupted teeth have been mistakenly referred to as predeciduos dentition. If these teeth are not mobile, they should not be extracted because there are no replacements for them until the permanant teeth erupt."

The permanent teeth start coming in at age 6. Some of the above answers are wrong

When a baby is born with his or her teeth, these are considered temperal or milk teeth, they should remain up until the age of six years after which the permanent or adult yeeth starts growing. To answer your question yes they are milk (baby) teeth there should be a total of 10 and these are replaced by permanent (adult)teeth a total of 32.

Some babies ARE born with teeth. The nickname for those is "milk teeth". They are not baby teeth OR permanent teeth. They can be pulled to prevent choking like a previous person stated. They will grow regular "baby teeth" between 4-10 months like any other infant. Those will fall out between 4-8 yrs old and permanent "Adult" teeth will grow in. HTH!

It is very unusual for a baby to be born with teeth, however when they fall out they will be replaced with adult teeth.

babies arent born with teeth, they grow in a year or so after they are born. Milk teeth and baby teeth are the same, just different names. After the baby teeth fall out (at about age 8) adult teeth come in which ar then there for life (if they take good care of them)

nighttrain is correct. Teeth present at birth are called natal teeth and they usually are the child's baby teeth. They should only be removed if they are very loose (a choking hazard) or if they are causing trouble with feeding, either by irritating the tongue or causing a problem with nursing. Also milk teeth is another name for baby teeth.

Baby teeth and milk teeth are the same. They are also called deciduous teeth. These teeth are only temporary until your permanent teeth grow in. You have 20 deciduous teeth and 32 permanent teeth. I am sure of this since I am a dental assistant.

babies are not born with teeth. their teeth don't grow in until like a year later. this set stays with them until about age 6-7 and then they fall out. at that time, their adult teeth grow in and these stay for life.

Milk teeth and baby teeth are one in the same. They are temporary until your permanent teeth are strong and developed enough to replace them.
