I've feed my Cocker Spaniel angus filet mignon. The butcher said that he wouldn't be getting any fresh filets until Friday. Is it ok to feed her a more marveled cut like a NY strip or a ribeye without upsetting her tummy?

Yes it is okay to feed her a less expensive cut of meat. Since you would be feeding her the same protien you don't have to worry on that account.

What you DO need to watch out for is an increase in fat intake. If the meat you normally feed her is rather lean, make sure to trim as much fat off of the less expensive cut of meat as you can before you feed it to her.

Since you are not changing protiens the only real variant is the amount of fat in the meat. Dogs can get upset stomachs just like people if they consume more fat than they are used to. If this happens it will only be temporary and she could get loose stools for a day or so.

If your dog is used to eating a fair amount of fat with her meat then you are pretty safe either road.

Absolutely NOT ! Your dog deserves the very best..and you can find the filet in the next town..If you can't go the extra mile for your dog..give her to someone who will love her!

I think you need to drive from place to place until you find her style of meat she is use to eating.

How dare you be so cruel by feeding her substandard cuts of meat!!!
