I have a friends wedding coming up and need a date. I really am not looking for a steady boyfriend or anything right now. So how can I ask someone without him getting the wrong idea.

If you have someone in mind, just simply tell the person your situation. A lot of people have been in your shoes before and most will understand and not take it to mean anything. Let the person know that the date will be strictly for fun and nothing else...unless it leads to something else. I would try to take someone you've known for awhile and are comfortable with. Dates can be awkward to begin with when you don't know the person very well. Add a wedding to the mix and you might have a disaster waiting to happen. You want to be able to enjoy yourself, so going with someone you know will put you more at ease. Plus, everyone is going to know you and this guy just met if you act weird around each other. My suggestion, don't stress. If the person you ask sees that you are stressed about asking, they may read more into the situation than there really is. Good luck!

Just tell them you don't have a date for a wedding & then say you want to go with someone you can have a good time with without having to worry about "strings". Or why not just ask a good guy friend who knows that you aren't looking for anything
LAst option-Go by yourself or take a good girl friend with ya-There is always single guys at weddings!

If you have one, ask a male friend to go with you....someone who already understands the boundaries of "friendship" versus "relationship".

If that's not an option, then just be honest with whomever you ask and tell him that you're just looking for a fun date to the wedding, nothing more...and make sure you mention NO STRINGS.

Whatever you do, be honest from the get-go, or you could wind up in a difficult situation!!!

Just like that... approach a guy friend and say hey, I need an escort to this wedding. Will you attend with me? Don't say DATE. You are just looking for a friend to go and have a good time.

tell him from the jump, we are just going to this wedding and the only reason why I want you to come with me is cause I don't want to go by myself. At the same time you never know, you to might just gradually develop into something deeper, if he is willing to go with you to the wedding after you say all that.

Honesty. Explain your situation and that you'd like for him to come simply as a guest of yours. Who knows, he might feel more comfortable going if he knows there are no strings attached.

Just ask me, I'm not busy that weekend, want should I wear, Black tie. What will you be wearing so we match, OH, I'm so thrilling, I can't wait. I'll bring you roses, is yellow a good color for you, or do you prefer red ones, which ever you like.....
