once in a while won't kill you, but try to cut it back to once or even twice a month. fast food is filled with so many hormones, etc. can cause many detrimental health problems especially to children who have not yet hit puberty.

Define BAD??
I would say a little McDonalds is not bad as long as they eat decent the rest of the week and get some activity.
The food isn;t any worse than what most other restaurants serve or what some people cook at home.
The key is overall balance and quantity control. The movie "supersize me" is an unfair concept ,becasue he ate the same one meal every day with no veggies. That would have happened just the same if he ate burgers and fries made at home and never exercized.
I would say it is fine. Just give them fruit for desert later and stop by the park on the way home.

Once a week is a little much. Maybe once every two or three weeks would be better. There are a lot of preservatives in those french fries, good as they are, and they're not good for growing children or adults.
You can't really use Super Size Me as a reference. He purposely chose the fatty foods. Someone else did a similar experiment and actually lost weight! That's because once she'd tried everything on the menu, she started choosing the things that weren't as bad as their burgers and fries. Plus she exercised regularly. McD's does have some healthier things on the menu, like their salads and fruit cups. Still, their salad dressings have about 2-3 times as much sodium as necessary (especially their supposedly lite dressings!) so I'd bring your own dressing. All that salt isn't good for you.

So long as you do it in moderation (and it sounds like you are!) it should be allright. Try to get them to vary out though, and try the salads, or other different things, and not just a burger and fries every time.
Nothing makes a person fat but their own choices. So long as they're active and they don't just eat junk food, one trip to Mickey D's a week isn't going to kill them.

Yes. Fast Food is the worst kind of food. It contains so much fat, salts and sugars that it contributes to obesity and high blood pressure. A person should eat fast food maybe once a month, not four times a month.

You should read Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, you'll never eat fast food again. I gave it up completely a year ago - I lost 15 pounds in 2 months. It hasn't come back, either.

I think once a week is okay as long as you are providing good wholesome healthy food the rest of the week, every one needs a treat at the end of the week, or try once a fortnight and go bowling on the other. bit of exercise and fun as well!!

Yeah, I ate at McDonalds at least once a day for over 4 years. I got really sick. It affected my gall bladder and my liver. My liver looks like it belongs to a guy who has been drinking heavily for years. I got bloated, and it seriously messed up my metabolism. Damn you Mayor McCheese.

There is nothing wrong with taking them out. However, teach them about the healthier things to eat.
