This was directed to that person, I was still typing when it got removed, respond if you want, but not looking for answsers, just know ur not alone
I understand where you're coming from. I asked a similar question recently, and it was taken as an attack and several thought that I was forcing my religion on them just by asking the question. I am with you, I have seen many questions saying things like if you believe in evolution, then why are their still christians. As a christian, how else am I supposed to take that other than as an offense?
I think science is gr8, but something had to start all of it, and I prefer to believe it was God instead of some big bang. who knows, maybe God even made the big bang?!
Why is it that we are expected to sit back and take their beleifs without being given a chance to defend ourselves in return? We as christians do need to watch how we respond. I am guilty of answering out of anger myself. Not right but Its a nartural defense mechanim-good luck

There are many Christians who believe that Jesus exemplified the perfect ethical life and try to follow his example but also realize that the scriptures were written in ancient times by men who didn't have the advantage of modern medicine and science.

Being a Christian doesn't mean that one is the enemy of science.

As to the last part--I believe everyone has the right to explain his or her point of view, critique the views of others, and respond to criticism. The marketplace of ideas should be open and free.

Thanks for your excellent comments.

I wasnt involved with the earlier convo but I am a born again christian who believes in the big bang. Not that it was your main point or anything but too many Christians put science on the backburner thinking it has nothing to do with God. In fact however, God created science and we can understand it without it conflicting with our Christian beliefs. Check out Hugh Ross at Reasonstobelieve.org if you dont think science and Christianity mix. Dont be a pushover though if you go to the site. Actually try to read some of the articles, I think you'll find them interesting.

Some christians believe in the Big Bang but they say they believe in God too isn't that contradicting.

scientists are trying to disprove God, so y are u with the enemy?

If u believe in God then u have to believe in the bible and the bible did not state that He created a Big Bang that made us, He made adam and eve.

If everything needs a beginning or a creator, then what created god? Just something to think over.
