i really REALLY like this one boy and i just moved here so i dont know alot about him but i get soo nervous when i walk by him er somn and i wanna ask him to the dance but i cant wellp i gave him a note askin him and his friend and answered it . . . then after that he keeps on lookin at me . .

i think you're blowing the whole thing out of proportion. it's just a dance...sure it's a hint that you may like him, but it doesn't mean you're dating...just that you need a date because you don't already have one.
next time he looks at you weird, just laugh and be like, "what?" (in a cute way of course) and then later, just say, i still need a date..why don't you go w/ me??? it'll be fun!
but act like it's no big deal...like it's not so serious...that way he doesn't feel pressured or akward...but hurry up! or some other girl may beat you to the chase! what if he goes w/ someone else and then they start dating?? then what???

You gotta learn now, don't get your hopes up but at the same time you gotta get over that fear and stubborness. Quit playing games and ask him. If he don't wanna oh well, sooner or later someone will come along. Believe me. I've been married 13 years and I've known him for 23 yrs. It don't ever happen like you expect. So expect nothing. Maybe he thinks you wrote the note to his friend(Did you put his name on it) If not, there could be some misunderstanding. Maybe he just wants you to come and ask him, NO GAMES. Say it just how it is.

I don't think you should ask him to THIS dance...wait, see what the girl looks like (if he brings one) or comes with his friends...and then you can see your competition...plus going with a group of your friends is much better...there are going to be more dances to ask whomever...
