IV in the vein
IM in the muscle (a shot)
sub Q under the skin but not in the muscle.(form of shot)
sou Lingual under the tongue
PO by mouth
Trans dermal thru the skin as in a patch
Rectally Inserted in the rectum
Vaginally a very few meds are inserted in the cervix
Ocular ear drops
and eye drops
Inhaled

I'd really be carefull when considering medication, especially in terms of mental health. not to go into detail, but it may have helped me a bit in the past with my problems but the side effects are many and can have an adverse effects, also some like forms of Diazapam can be highly addictive/ or you at least can become dependant on them.

intra-arterial - through an artery
intramuscular - by injection into a muscle.
