Don't you think that their science teachers probably feel incredibly ashamed of themselves when they assert this?

Disproving A does not, & cannot not constitute evidence of Proposition B.

Why are creationists so... uneducated?

Yeah. Disproving evolutionary theory doesn't prove creation, it proves... something else. But some of these people actually believe that the Christian creation theory is the ONLY other creation theory out there, so that kind of mindset doesn't surprise me.

Scientists attempt to tutor evolution unsuitable as a factor of the scientific gadget. Evolution could be a thought, extremely than a hypothesis, thinking that's been useful to stand as much as challenge. Have coffee with a set of biology grad pupils. The communication oftentimes turns to how do you tutor this that or the different factor stepped forward. day after at present to return, the paper with the information is on the table. If it would not take place, somebody has a learn thought. The test is put in to disprove evolution, yet interior the tip, evolution keeps rewarding. having reported that, the doctrine of Biblical literalism is a unsafe undertaking. making use of a pair of passages, you exempt your self from ethical behavior (after all, it was once the Creationists who lied below oath in Kitzmiller vs. Dover), notwithstanding the 1st few chapters of Genesis could proceed to be literal. for sure, the 1st portion of Genesis is the biggest e-e book, because of the fact the Creationists eat the sinew of the shank (32:32). it extremely is barely good to challenge thoughts, yet interior the perceive of skeptical study, not doctrinal absolutism.

People in general tend to think in Dichotomies - two and only two mutually exclusive possibilities.

It's the simplest and easiest way to think about a problem. Sometimes it's even useful. But creationists seem incapable of thinking any other way!

I've prodded and tried to get Creationists and ID advocates to present either actual evidence for their view, or a potential falsification of their view.

Inevitably they present evidence AGAINST evolution for the former, and hypothetical evidence FOR evolution for the latter!

This ONLY makes sense from a strictly dichotomous viewpoint.

Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. -- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

God is an impossibility, there is no such thing as an immortal being that existed and created everything. Evolution is far more probable therefore you must accept it as truth.

They're not interested in proving anything at all. Not creation or evolution or aliens.
You must read the book and obey. It's truth. Don't question.
That's why they're uneducated. The question is, why are they so naive/gullible?

It's frustrating! Best I can figure is that it's just too scary for them to believe otherwise...it's years....no generations of traditions and wrong teaching....passed down for years and years....it's easier and more comfortable to believe a lie. I don't have a problem with whatever they want to believe. As long as they give me the same respect. :)

When you want to believe badly enough, fact and logic don't matter. Simple as that. It's also easier, since it relieves the believer of the burden of learning or thinking.

Because it's mandated in the Bible.

Commandment #11:
"Thou shalt not seek any higher knowledge than that of the 8th grade level. To attempt to acquire this knowledge is to fornicate with Satan and his minions."

(Of course, at this point one would have to look up the words "fornicate", "acquire", and "minions" too, so that's why the pastor interprets it for them.)
