Monzon - W 87 (KO's 57) TF 100 - W pct 87% - KO pct 57% - wins over Benevenuti{2}, Griffin[2], Napoles, Valdez{2} and Briscoe - KO'ed by none - #40 ranked puncher - #11 ranked fighter
Hagler - W 62 (KO's 51) TF 67 - W pct 93% - KO pct 76% - wins over A. Minter, Hearns, Mugabi, Duran, Hamso{2} and Briscoe - KO'ed by none - #35 ranked puncher - #17 ranked fighter
Both fighters were never KO'ed. Both fighters held the title for 7 yrs. Brent, Hagler also went 14 yrs without being KO'ed. Hagler must not give Monzon too much respect like he did with Duran.
It could be like a close election or the path of a storm (too close to call). If Hagler presses the fight, he can eke out a split decision over Monzon.

This the Match up that definitely I want to see, its just Sad that Monzon Retires before Haglers Prime.
But if Both Fighter Fights in their Prime It will be a tossed up.
Both Fighters Have a Sturdy Chin it will be a good dispaly of both Boxing skills.
This is Pick'em Fight.
I Pick Hagler split decision 15 that is because Im a Hagler Fan.
Monzon Fans can do the Same.

merely opt to communicate about that out of 20 call protection on condition that prevailing the MW crown, Monzon merely fought at Argentina 7 situations. on condition that prevailing the belt Monzon campaigned better in Mediterranean international places than in his fatherland. Monzon for me may win this wrestle. Hagler isn't so effective even as he's the only chasing his opponent (see the Duran wrestle) and hostile to an incredible determination fighter with authentic and attain reward like Monzon, he may don't have any selection yet to go back ahead. And which will be a perilous job pondering how reliable Monzon's jab is. Monzon jabs, sidesteps, authentic go and clinches to demise for a UD15 over Hagler. Going "all out warfare" hostile to Monzon like what Marvin did hostile to Hearns does no longer be effective because Monzon has a granite chin like Hagler and bigger importantly, the Argentinian is mentally disciplined. Monzon sticks to what he does astounding and he infrequently, if ever, supplies in to the temptation of slugging out of control with anybody.

Great matchup and I personally rank them as tied for 2nd in middleweight history behind Sugar Ray Robinson. Monzon was very strong, had a great jab, and a sturdy chin. Hagler was very aggressive, had an iron jaw and very determined. This fight would be a great fight and in the end the judges declare the fight a draw.
