There is a prophetical statement told by prophet Muhammed in Bokary (4829) that when his son-in-law (Ali Ibn Talib) was going to marry another woman (in addition to prophet Muhammed's daughter, Fatma), prophet Muhammed refused and said "NO, NO, AND NO. SHE (his daughter) IS A PIECE OF ME AND WHATEVER HURTS HER WILL ALSO HURT ME".

I am a little surprised because prophet Muhammed himself had 9 (or 12) wives. Is this a double standard from his side?

Remember that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) married at the age of 25 to a 40 year old widow called Khadijah. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) took no other wife until after her death, out of his love for her. The year of her death is known as the Year of Sorrow, because of the devastation that it caused him and it was also the same year in which his uncle and protector Abu Talib died. She was either 58 or 65 years old. For more info on Prophet's marriages see the link below

The hadith that you quoted is below:

Narrated By Al-Miswar bin Makhrama : I heard Allah's Apostle who was on the pulpit, saying, "Banu Hisham bin Al-Mughira have requested me to allow them to marry their daughter to Ali bin Abu Talib, but I don't give permission, and will not give permission unless 'Ali bin Abi Talib divorces my daughter in order to marry their daughter, because Fatima is a part of my body, and I hate what she hates to see, and what hurts her, hurts me."

Any hadith which contradicts Quran and common sense is false.

Mohammed (pbuh) married multiple women primarily for political and social reasons. He was monagamous for the first nearly 60 years of his life. Why not ask why he didn't take another wife at the same time as Khadijah? Marriages which are built on love and mutual respect are more enjoyable if they are monogamous. Marriages which are built on politics will hopefully develop mutual love and respect, but as long as a man can be just among his wives (which is VERY difficult) he is allowed to marry more than one.

the nine wives..he was married only to Khadija until she died...then he married those women for social or political reasons..is it enough to say that one of them was sixty years old widow?
Beside the woman Ali wanted to marry was the daughter of Abi Jahl the famous enemy of Muhammad(pbuh) and that was hurting Fatima alot..so the prophet here took this action as a father not as a prophet..as he mentioned that he is not what is halal unjustifiable "haram" or the reverse but he is doing this for his daughter.
