DO NOT USE THE IVERMECTIN/FEED STORE RECIPIE!!!
Dogs have died from this and maybe a lot of people do not know that Propolyne glycol can cause KIDNEY FAILURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can buy generic Heartguard under the name Iver-Heart,Tri-Heart, and I am sure there are others. They can alot cheaper than the brand names. Get a prescription from the vet and order them through the pet med supply places. Sometimes a vet will match the price that you are getting online. Ask yours.

I have 6 Newfies and it is VERY expensive to treat them every month with Iver-Heart, but it is worth it.
I would never give my dogs the propolyene glycol or the feed store Ivermectin. Call some of the university vet hospitals.....a lot of dogs each year are overdosed with the ivermectin!!! Blindness and death can occur!!!!!

Before you can get heartworm medication anywhere you need a prescription from a vet. If it is a puppy over 6 months old you will need ot get a heartworm test done before you can get a prescription.

You can buy heartworm medication at a very reasonable price from your vet. Buying the whole box is usually cheaper then one dose at a time. Also you can save money by buying it through
1-800-PETMEDS, but you have to buy full boxes, they don't sell single doses.

I use Ivermectin with my German Shepherds and get it from Revival http://www.revivalanimal.com/default.asp Go on their site and look up hearworm meds and stuff. I do not mix mine with propoline Glycol at all. I use a 1 cc sryinge to give this to my dogs orally, dose depending on their weight. Using the Ivermection saves me a lot of money treating the kennl and I treat all year round now.

Best price you will find online is from http://www.petsuppliesnet.com

Because they are not located in the US you do not need a prescription. I have been using this supplier for 3+ years for my own pets and have never had a quality issue. You can see the expiration date for each product before you place the order.

you can either buy it from your veterinarian or from the internet. if you do decide to buy over the internet, i would suggest making sure that's it's a reputable website so that you don't get some imposter heartworm preventive.
