Firstly, if you are in a meeting/ business lunch, your cell phone shouldn't even be on.
Secondly, if you are in a meeting/business and it does go off, do NOT answer the phone, but excuse yourself and quickly turn it off.
The only exception I would tolerate is an expectant parent.
To answer it means that you do not respect your meeting guest's time. You should be focused on the person in front of you.

At work, I answer all calls, I have no choice.
At home, I only answer if I'm near the phone and I'm home alone. We only have 1 phone on the main level of the house. Why should I run downstairs everytime the phone rings when I know it's not for me and we have an answering machine?
I always have my cell phone with me, and I check the call ID everytime. The only calls I always pick up when possible are from my boyfriend, work or from home. Any other call, I only pick up when I feel like talking. I have an aswering machine on my cell too, so they can always leave me a message if it's important.

No. Calling a phone number is a request to talk to the person. There's no obligation for you to accept the request unless you want to. Plus, my cell has voicemail so they can leave me a message or send me a text message if they want to.
If the call is somewhat unusual, like the person doesn't often call me, lives far away, or calls in the middle of the night, then I will probably answer it because it must be something out of the ordinary.

nope, i sometimes remember the times when there was no cell phones. if somebody is calling you, that doesnt mean you have to answer. you can call back later. if it is really important they will also call more often, then you'll know. otherwise, put your cell on vibration when you are in a meeting, so you wont hear it.

Heck no, in fact when the phone rings I usually look at it and wonder "who the heck is calling?". Even when it's someone I know I rarely pick up. I just call back when I'm ready to talk.

No, I truly don't. In fact, I look at answering the phone as a chore more than anything else.

Do not answer your phone when you are in a meeting. It should be on the silent mode.
