this is normal for a baby s skin to do this. When my son was little I used baby lotion on his skin.

Actually most new Born's get that {both mine did} It has something to do with the air after being in Fluid for 9 months. What i was told with my first with my first child{ after i when screaming into my Dr's cause there was something wrong with my baby and I was sure I had caused it!} After you bath them Gently rub them dry with a towel to remove the little flakes, Never ever scrape or try to pull them off with your fingers { terry cloth works great if you have it, its still soft but it helps get those little loose bits} Then rub baby oil, or lotion on from head to toe, I used Sween cream. It will go a way, I was also told that 2 or 3 times a week is more than enough to fully bath your new born. the rest of the time a sponge bath will do.

Could be infantile eczema.
My daughter had this, at her 10 day check, we mentionned that she had flaky skin on her wrists, then a few weeks later, developed very red angry looking skin on her neck, then other places- it looked so sore, but we use a combination of E45, aqueous cream and Balneum Plus bath oil when we bathe her.
I would recommend that you see her doctor about this, because you should get the things free on prescription, unless you're in USA, I don't know how that works over there- but definitely start with a non-perfumed moisturiser.
I was told by my health visitor to not use baby wipes when at home as well, just use cotton wool and water.
Don't bathe your baby too often, as this can dry her skin out.
I hope that this helps you, honey.

Was she over due? If she was expect her skin to flake. If she wasn't try rubbing some good quality extra virgin olive oil on to her skin. It sounds awful but it really is great and there are no colours or perfumes added to it. It also good for your skin after giving birth. Just don't use a lot and put it on with cotton wool at night.

This is very natural. Some babies react to being in the womb different than others. Just continue to put baby lotion on her and dont worry, it will go away in a few weeks.

I would not use a thing. Just avoid bathing too often as it will strip the oils from the skin. It's most likely just shedding of newborn skin.

It's just dry skin, every baby has it. Just put baby lotion on her every night.

A lot of newborns get that. My daughter's skin peeled forever and my pediatrician said that it was better to leave it alone and that it is natural for them to peel.
