She has had a false pregnancy before. But this time i'm really sure the deed was done. I want her to have at least one litter before i fix her. She is 2.5 years old. She has always been a picky eater and now she is definately eating less than she usually does.

eating less is usually in the first 4 weeks. after they they eat about 25% more. The hair around the nipples thins out, and the nipples become enlarged. also, you will notice a steady weight gain in the belly. About 7 weeks you can feel movement. Best idea is to see a vet to confirm.

Your dog is probably pregnant if her nipples swell (elongate) and turn pinkish and her belly starts to expand. Usually these signs aren't prominent, however, until she's already about 40 days into her 60 day pregnancy. She may also have "morning sickness" and spontaneously vomit on occasion.

If you want to know for sure, take your gal to her vet. He can do an xray (which will show the tiny skeletons of the puppies inside, if she has any) or a sonagram. Seeing the pups like this before they're born is always a good idea, because you'll know, on whelping day, how many pups to expect.

canines should not be bred till they're over 2 years previous. question for you. Why might you like to reproduce a dogs it fairly is so over bred already? did you be attentive to that the Cocker Spaniel is a uncomplicated organic bred dogs chanced on interior the pound. because of the fact the Cocker Spaniel is so over bred they have an inclination to have aggression themes because of the fact human beings do not difficulty to do temperament sorting out only before breeding them. to not point out they're companies to such a great number of well being themes. The cocker spaniel isn't a breed for the 1st time proprietor.

Its hard to tell unless you go to the vets, I had a dog who had a false pregnancy, and all the signs were there but she never gained weight, Once agin I am playing the waiting game, I dont want to take her to the vet untill 45day for xrays, but Waiting to see if she even gains any weight this time around, I looked for signs that she didn't have with the false pregnancy, Her nipples have changed to a pinkish color, she is entering wk 4 now, but still waiting for the weight gain, She has all the signs once agin but it could be another false, So just wait and see if she gains the weight, here is a site that might help.

ok the good time to see if she took around the 1st month because her girth area will get bigger under the rib area and her nipples will be larger than normal. she will slow her eating down to where she won't eat at all or she will eat very little. if she is prego then what you need to do is start feeding her a variety of foods like( veggies like carrots, celery, tomatos, hard boiled eggs, wht rice, chicken liver only once a week, cottage cheese twice a week, steamed potatos, can use chicken broth, peas, grd turkey) along with her dry food. make sure that you start feeding her puppy food because she will need all the nutrients to feed her pups. when she gets closer to having the pups you will see an increase in her eating and she will eat alot. keep her warm and comfortable and you will know when she is ready to have the pups, she will start to pant really hard and start to scratch around in her bed.she will also whine alot too.
i go through this every other 6 months when my dog is about to have her pups. what i do is after she has had her last tie with the male , i start feeding her all the healthy foods, exercise her alittle more than normal, and just keep an eye on her. also becareful to for the first month with all the running because dogs are known to have miscarriages, that is their fragile state of pregnancy. but even after the month you still need to keep an eye on her because she can miscarry at any point of the pregnancy.

good luck in your new pups

Other than her having the puppies?
Has she been humped by a male dog?

you can take a sample of her urine and do a pregnancy test! They do also work for dogs! Found that out first hand.

Her being picky could be a sign of illness or in your case maybe pregnancy. If you want to be 100% your best bet is to see her vet.

Good luck!

Take her to the vet. It's the best way to tell and make sure that she is progressing well. They can also, depending on how far along she is, tell you how many puppies. Good luck. Post pics of the pups when (if) they're born. Cocker Spaniels are so cute!

You can take her to the vet around day 28 and have an ultrasound done. If you are too cheap to do that, then you have to wait and see.

She might try making a bed or nest. The hair around her nipples fall out.
