I used to make stuff up too. I mean you go in there confessing that you "threw all of the green beans in the garbage and told your mom you ate them" sounds weak. Of course, I am certain that, when I was 8, I heard the priest laugh out loud when I told him that I committed adultery 4 times that week.

No....I didn't make anything up, but I didn't tell all my sins either!
I can't remember when I stopped going - it might have been around the age when I started sinning in earnest, so perhaps I always did tell the truth!
Pablo - you HAVE to. You're taught that your sins are only forgiven via confession to a priest. And even if you didn't want to go, chances are your parents would make you!

100% but I always find trouble telling another person what I had in my heart.... the way I thought about it God knows what is in my heart why should I tell a person.... and also what are the basis for this???? In islam we have no intermediaries between us and God so we just ask for forgiveness to God every day :) and ask that he leads us in his path! The way I saw it the person that I tell things to is also commiting a sin by concealing what I have done. For example if a person commits murder and tells a priest... and his sins are "absolved" is the priest not kinda covering up???

I"m a still-practicing Catholic and I go to confession. I always tell them the truth, everything I can remember. When it's over, I always feel so much better, like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

I told the truth until I was about 25 and then realized it was all Bull Sh*it, and took my act down the road, if you believe in God you don't need an organized religion, you can talk to him anytime anywhere, your business not some one who might have been playing around with some little boy's P P.......................

I did too. I felt ucomfortable telling a man all my sins. It's none of his business. That's one bad thing about Catholocism, you have to repent through a priest.

You seem extremely immature, the priest probably had heard worse than you could possibly come up with anyway.
