Most people are told to drink between two and four gallons of water a day, translation --- 8 large tumblers of water. For now it maybe enough, you may want to even increase it if possible. Little do many people realize, water flushes out all pollutants in the body. It assists in lowering cholestrol, flushing out your bladder and kidneys, helps aid your liver in processing irritants throughour the body and eventually out of the system. Water aids in the lowering of blood pressure, and helps yoor skin to retain some if not most of its natural beauty. But, this has to be done through regular exercise and diet.

Many will tell you at least 2 quarts of water minimum. Baloney!. I've survived for years on maybe 1 or 2 large glasses a day, plus other liquids like diet soda, coffee or diet snapple iced tea. When I've dieted, I've lost weight just fine drinking the same way.

Look at coffee or tea. How are they made? You take a pot of water and pour it through the coffee grounds or tea leaves. The result that you drink is that same water, plus some additional chemicals and flavorings held in solution in the water. The chemical nature of the water has not changed. It's just water plus a small amount extra of stuff. Don't buy it? Ok, look at instant coffee. How is that any different than if I drink a cup of water and then swallow a spoonful of instant coffee crystals right after? I drank my water didn't I?

Almost all drinks are composed primarily of water, and your body will seperate it out just fine from the other ingredients.

Yes, you need probably around 2 quarts of water based liquid a day for healthy living, but there's no rule that says you have to drink all of that as plan old water.

Water is very much essential for the body to detoxify the waste products. One must drink at least one and half litre of water after getting from the bed in the morning because the body is not provided with the water during sleep and it is very much needed by the body to avoid dehydration. It is not necessary that you should only drink sufficient water alone, whereas drinking milk, butttermilk and fruit juices also amount to drinking water. One must drink at least four to five litres of water every day and this will help kidneys to function properly. Drinking of water depends upon the climatic conditions of the location where one lives. During summer one will need more water to drink whereas in winter and rainy seasons, the water consumption is reduced. Drinking one litre of water a day is not enough. Take care and increase your water intake to be in good health.

The recommended requirement is 8 to 12 glasses a day. And a cup of water is 8oz a cup. Do that or if you can more! Now you will go to the bathroom a lot. And just ignore the feeling like an ocean thing/waterfall!~

I've recently been taking a nutrition class and they say that you are supposed to drink 1/2 your body weight in water daily. If you drink green tea you can count that as 2 times the water because it detoxifies your body better than water. Thus, if you drink 8 oz green tea you can count that as 16 oz. of your daily water intake(half your weight). Therefore, if you weigh 150 lbs you should drink 75 oz. etc.

I would up that to at least 2 liters. Your body needs 8 - 8oz servings of water a day for optimum health, more if you diet and exercise, to help purge the body of stuff it doesn't need. 64oz= 1/2 gal, which isn't far from 2 liters.

One liter is 34 ounces and you need at least 8 to12 8 ounce glasses of water per day. That is 64 to 96 ounces of water or about 1.8 to 2.8 liters per day.

No, should really aim for 2 litres if you lead a 'normal' life. I say that as I am cabin crew and we are told that we should be drinking 3-4 litres a day as we spend so much time in unusual altitudes and are more prone to dehydration.

a rough estimate is to drink half your body weight in ounces of water a day.

so if you weigh 100 pounds, drink 50 ounces of water a day ( a liter is approximately 33.8 ounces)
