Any health conditions that your body is going through does show itself in your hair as your as an appendage to your body. Hair color can be affected sometimes, as the nutrients and oils needed may not be produced as frequently when ill or malnourished, its going somewhere else that needs it more. More directly though, loss of hair is more common when we are not doing well health wise. You will notice alot of anorexics have very thin hair and not a very good color to them - that is what happens when you starve the body. Chemo patients are a good indication that the body is fighting hard within and the hair no longer receives anymore nourishment. Genetics do have some to do with our hair and hair color, however, how we take care of ourselves is more important and affects us more greatly.
