Actually my religious/spiritual group has forbidden sex alone or with someone unless the sex is very minimized in marriage.
There are different recommended techniques to minimize our sex desire so that we can at least keep this minimum standard. After thirty years I am still struggling to learn these techniques, but as I do I hope to share what I've learned with the world.
It is best to learn abstinence from sex during childhood.

I only got in trouble once in the confessional.
Some religions consider the waste of seed to be a sin.

For a few months, I was working in a town that had no Episcopal church, so I attended the Presbyterian church. One Sunday evening at the college-age youth group, the minister told us guys that if we masturbated we would be less able to make babies - trying to scare people, I guess. Gosh, I had a terrible time trying to hold in a laugh.
I experience sex, whether by myself masturbating or with another person, as a spiritual experience, a melding with the cosmos, a small moment of oblivion, an awakening into light. As a result, if a person is open-minded enough to try the experience, it can be wonderfully therapeutic to lie on the table of a body-worker who is also a light-worker. ;-)
What are your opinions or experiences?
As for your second question, I cannot answer that, because I have never had a week without sex to compare with.

Of all the religious and spiritual questions that could be asked to advance the spirit of many... you choose masturbation? You need a different hobby.

Under United Nation's law everyone has the right to masturbate, so religious groups can suck on it.

yes, it has been mentioned although they would never dare use such a naughty word as masturbate. But my belief is the church shoudl look after my soul and stay away from my penis and what I do with it when I am alone.

Yeah, when I was a kid. But I left that church.
Pagans are allowed to masturbate!!
