This is wierd, I use to be able to watch my brother put down a 30 pack and it would be hard to tell if he even had a buzz. Now he can drink a 6 pack and not be able to talk wihtout slurring. I dont see him but once a year. He use to be really fun to party with. Now he will pass out after drinking 8-10 beers. When he passes out I get to put him in messed up possitions and add things such as makeup and funny things like that. How can he go from such a big drinker to a light wieght? It just dont take much anymore for him to hit the floor, yet he drinks everyday. Please help! I dont get it! Is he sick?

well.. obviously his body is telling him something bad..and he shouldn't drink as much cuz his tolerance has gone down. some say that your blood circulation is actually really good if you get drunk easily. however, it can be bad for his liver to drink enough to make him pass out. u should advise him to drink only until he gets buzzed, and that's it. u have more fun that way, and u are not abusing ur body.

The reason why you can drink more with less effect is because you have built up a tolerance to the alcohol. It takes more beer for you to reach the same level of drunkness.

This is called alcoholism. Congratulations, you are getting closer to ruining your life.

As for your brother: Most likely, his liver is ruined and for this reason, he cannot drink so much anymore. OR, he is also taking some medication or other drugs that interact with a small amount of alcohol.

If getting through a 30 pack is your idea of success or a daily goal, I can only pray that you wake up before your life goes down the tubes.

Good luck to you.

He's likely getting older, I've found I just can't drink as much as I used to.

I myself prefer light beers (though I am in Canada and I think light beers here are the equivalent to regular in the States...like 4 1/2 %.) . I love to drink while working in the yard all day, or painting etc, but drinking steadily all day can really screw up the quality of my work!!! I've also alternated between real beer and non-alcholic beers to keep from getting knocked down.

Try serving him light beer and make sure you have tasty treats to snack on throughout.

A glass of water between the beers will help too.

My guess, and I'm not a doctor so I might be wrong!, is that all the heavy drinking slowly got to his liver. The alcohol attacked and weakened it over the years of drinking a lot and now it can't assimilate it anymore or as well as before.

Maybe he should see a doctor and/or check into rehab!

Alcohol abuse will slowly destroy your bodily functions. You will have diarrhea uncontrollably, a flacid penis, heart problems, lack of hunger, liver disease, jaundice (yellow skin), puffy ankles, tremors, exhaustion, psychosis, pneumonia, kidney, spleen, esophagus, gall bladder, urinary infections, and more. But the best part is that you will try to blame this on everything else in life, including other people's sanitary conditions, and nitrates in hot dogs. Congratulations, and STOP DRINKING.

P.S. and the last consequence is death.

If he was able to drink 30 beers without appearing drunk, then yes, he is sick. Its called ALCOHOLISM. Youre on your way there too.....

If he still drinks daily and cannot consume more than a six pack without getting drunk, then it sounds to me like his liver is beginning to fail on him. That happens to heavy drinkers....

He could be sick.

Sounds like poor liver function due to perhaps liver cirrhosis.

Doc can check blood for any problems. He also needs to watch out for hepatitis.

Tolerance is affected by age and weight. I'm not sure if its scientific, but I think how often he drinks is also a factor.

I don't think your brother is sick, perhaps if it worries you, I reckon you should not let him drink then..?

Take it easy on the booze girl!

He may be taking medication you don't know about that does not mix well with alcohol.
