Everything you mentioned sounds procedure except the rubbing of the outer lips..that's weird..I never had that done..is there a nurse in there while you are being examined. If u feel uncomfortable you should find a female doctor who does take that insurance, there has to be one somewhere..I'd go with my gut instinct. He doesn't sound like a caring doctor if he doesn't explain anything and then runs out. and no, it's not ridiculous b/c I had a similar experience and I found another doctor who was considerate and caring. Good luck

You need to tell one of the nurses or one of the other doctors about what's going on. You can request that a nurse be present during your exams and you have the right to ask him what he is doing the entire time he is in the room. If you have had cervical cancer you should be completely aware of what anyone is doing at any given time under any kind of exam. Also, one reason they do the rectal exam is to feel for, what is called, polyps in the rectum. And most of the time if they want a fecal sample they have small sample cards that they wipe the gloved finger on then close it and send it to the lab. You really need to tell someone about this, don't be afraid or ashamed it's your body you should be in complete control. Besides doctor's go to the bathroom they same way everyone else does they are not above reproach.

Are there any other doctors there? if not, ask that a nurse be present in the room. if he doesn't do it when she's in the room, then you can be pretty sure something weird is up. Don't take no for an answer. If there are no other doctors available, make sure the nurse is in the room.
Get your insurance to switch or at least write them and detail your concerns. Perhaps they will let you change immediately under the circumstances.

Hi. I think you are reading more into this. You had cervical cancer, so the dr. needs to do a full exam. The reason he put his finger in your but, it to feel for lumps or anything thing that does not feel normal. I find it very hard to believe that the dr. has not told you why he is doing this. I dont understand why you have seen this dr. how many times, and you have failed to ask him. also no one can stop you from seeing another dr. if you have problems with a dr. contact your insurance company and they will approve it, so you can see a different doctor. So in other words you are thinking that your doctor is doing something inapporiate. if you feel this way, just ask that the nurse be in the room with you at all times. if you request this, they have to honor it. anyway. you are reading to much into it. be thankful you have a dr. that does such a thoughral exam. You have had many chances to ask him, but you chose not to.

Is the nurse in the room with you all of the time the doctor is examining you? If not, ask for one. It is your right.
I always wonder why a man would go into the business of checking out women's reproductive systems.
Next time go there with a note pad and write the questions that you want answered before he begins.
Is there a woman Doctor that you can go to?
God Bless you, ;-)

He is checking for cancer. If you don't want to be checked just stop going there and die from a recurrance. If you want to live you should not mind being uncomfortable for a few minutes during the examination. Ask him if you have questions or ask the nurse that he is required to always have with him while examining female patients.

This is getting ridiculous. He doesn't TAKE a sample, stool material is on the glove after the exam and it is then placed on a small card that will show occult or old blood. If you are old to enough to have had cervical cancer and two children you certainly don't act like it.

unless he is getting obvious enjoyment from it, you have nothing to worry about. this is a normal part of the exam. you can ask him.
however, it is disturbing that he doesn't ask if you have any questions. he may be overbooking patients. you should find a doctor that takes more time with his patients.
here is a good link that explains what should be done in a gyno exam.

Tell him before he begins his next exam that you want him to speak to you about what he's doing and what it's supposed to reveal to him. He sounds brusque, but he's just checking for growths like tumors and probably warts on the labia since cervial cancer is caused by HPV. Talk to him about what you, as the medical consumer, needs.

Eeeeee... that's a little weird. My gynos have always been women and have always done their thing with no monkey business. Next time you're there, don't give him the chance to walk out and ask him what he's doing. Honey, you have the right to know!!
good luck!
