I'm sure it's fine to take a bath straight after you've eaten so long as you don't try swimming in it.

I was always told that you shouldn't go bathing (swimming) straight after eating - something about getting cramps, IIRC. I don't know if that's an old wives tale, though.

There is no reason not to take a bath immediately after eating..

i think that's an old wives's tale. there's nothing wrong with taking a shower after eating, or getting in the pool for that matter. the danger would be if swam or excercised vigorously. Water itself is not dangerous after eating.

Who said you shouldn't? Take a bath while you're eating if you want.

It is like the same advice that you would give to someone who's going to swim. In doing this, it can cause you to have stomach cramps and cause you to even drown!!

I believe it's because you may fall asleep after eating a heavy meal, then there is a risk of drowning.

because shortly after a person eats, they usually need to have a bowel movement. so it would make no sense to be in a hot tub and have to get out, and get the floor wet and toilet seat wet just to take a crap. so that is why you should wait.

I've never heard that. I have heard that you shouldn't swim for 20 minutes (I think) after you eat.
