Genesis does record instances of prostitution, including Tamar, who is included in the direct lineage of Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus.
It does not portray it as an acceptable practice. The only place where prostituion has a different light is the prophet Hosea, whom God commanded to go marry a prostitute; however, this was intended to be symbolic of the idolatry of Israel, so once again this is not positively promoting prostitution

Who says that it is wrong? Legal prostitution in the country would ease MILLIONS being wasted combating the "crime". How many tax dollars do you think would be generated by legal prostitution in the country- BILLIONS?
He offers the daughters so they will not rape the men- which is soooo wrong, right Christians?

that is not true-there were no such things as "gang rapes" in Genisis u nut! that was so long ago and if people in Genisis got caught cheating on their husband or wife they would have been stoned to death and questions like that show that people are doing all that they can to make and excuse to make prostitution right and in mine and God's opinion that will never be right

many instances of prostitution and adultery in the Bible are examples of veering from God, as in cheating on Him, or false religion. The harlot in Revelations is false religion.

There is also an episode were two pros stand before king solomon. one woman accuses the other of swapping her dead child with the others live child through the night. Solomon handles the case well and sees to it that the rightfull mother gets the child. No mention of stoning them to death for being pros.

You need to look up your definition of prostitution... Lot's daughters were not paraded around and sold off for sexual favors.. they were sacrificed for the sake of others..

Just because it is in Genesis or any other part of the bible doesn't make it right. Murder, Satan, everyone of the ten commandments are broken in the bible, but does that make them right?

Old and New Testament both have been corrupted by its followers. Read Quran and you will not find such stories, because its preserved by God Himself.

there are benefits, for the pimps, and the victims initially, but the harm is greater, for the victims, the society.
the examples in the bible are not meant to be followed but to gain lessons from its evil.
