I've seen a commercial for a certain car information/reviews/videos website but I forgot the address. Its like identix.com or something with an ix.com on the end. Does anyone know this website?

The best source for car info which is not paid for by the companies is Consumer reports. They rate all kinds of stuff, well worth the e-subscription. And a lot of their stuff is free online.

They'll tell you what's wrong, what's right, and rate the reliability, the ACTUAL gas mileage. I never buy anything worth more than $100 without checking out what their favorites are, and (except for computers) I usually take their advice, and have been happy with it, since before the internet was born.

I prefer to use several sites in conducting research. I pay particular attention to owner reviews and forums because you can gain a lot of honest opinions that way. While some reviews are mindless rambling, a survey of several can give you a feel for some potential pitfalls of purchasing a new car.
