If someone does the following what would you think?
a) When you 1st start the job, they are the 1st to attempt a proper conversation with you?
b) Everything friendly and normal for first month-not a lot of conversation but it is a very quiet office and predominately men.
c) Goes out on business, rings twice while the boss is at lunch, second time I just laugh and say you always ring when he is at lunch, he laughs then asks me to ask the boss to ring him. With everyone I asked if the boss had his number, and he says I will give the number to you. The boss did have his number. He doesn't ring lunchtime now!
d) Male stops saying hello in the morning after about a month just smiles, doesn't make much conversation if any.
e) 3 weeks holiday time between us, so 3 weeks no see
f) Everything returns to normal, except now he says hi ya, morning etc and smiles
g) Starts talking to you about your holiday when you are on your own!
h) Now is reasonably chatty!

Aren't you reading too much into this situation????, the man is just a work college, maybe he is naturally a little bit moody or perhaps he has other things on his mind. Just do your job you are there to work not flirt, he has not done anything wrong, not everyone is consistent.
He talks when you are alone because he is being friendly and breaking an awkward silence,!!!!!!!!!

yeah probably or maybe he already has a partner? you don't really reveal how much you know about him and if you have been out together outside of work so it's a little bit difficult to offer any advice. however, if you do like him why don't you meet up in a mutual place where you can talk and have a laugh. all the best

Probably. If you extremely like him, I suggest you making all the moves. Yes, it's always harder for the girls to break the ice; but studies show that 55% of guys from 15-25 years old prefer the girls to come up and make the moves. Trust me, making moves yourself is a non-lose full-gain advantage. If he rejects you, you just remember that next time you see a guy you like, it won't be as hard to approach him.

do you want to date this man? his action probably had nothing at all to do with you... he has a whole life outside of saying hello to in the morning... you dont know what was going on... maybe someone died... wife left.. something, but I would bet that his behavior had little or nothing to do with you. if you are just office friends, why do you care? if you want to date him... ask him out...!!

He is not shy. He knows what he is doing and actually waiting for a signal from you. Just open your arms to him and he will surely present himself fully.

Unless you are trying to date your co-worker (not recommended), then why do you care why he acts like that? Stop over analyzing!

If you really wanted to know, you would just walk up to him (instead of us strangers) and ask!
