I have quite a few cats myself. Not quite that many, but most of mine are outside. After looking at your web page, all I can say is, those kitties are very lucky.
You have a great link there and those cats looked like they were very happy and cared for. I wish I could afford to build on a room like that for my cats. I don't think you need any tips for looking after your cats, you're doing a great job. Keep it up.

Too Cool! And you even built them a room of their own!
I have almost 20 cats and Manx but most of mine live outside. Well they have a two car garage for their own. I spend about an hour each day feeding them and making them feel welcome and wanted. They in return keep my house rodent free. I have quite a few young females now so I expect a population explosion in the spring! Their line has been unbroken at the house now for over 20 years, the grand dames being a pair of females I got almost 25 years ago. You can still see the resemblances in my current cats to Scooter and Prinzel. Cool webpage!
editing... lmao at those who say call the humane society! sounds like a great idea! take happy well cared for and loved animals out and have them killed! jerks!

When I first read the question I almost commented saying that you should probably contact someone (friend, family, or shelter) to take on the animals but then I looked at your site.
You have things extremely clean for having that many cats/animals and they also have their own room and you seem to take excellent care of them which already sets you apart from hoarding/obsessive collecting cases. In those cases the people just can't take care of them but you don't seem to have that issue at all!
Plus you seem to live on a farm or at least out in the country (is this true?) where people just have more animals and it's normal. I grew up in the country where we had lots of animals like that and if a stray animal came wandering in, you'd take it in as your own. Another thing that's very good about your situation is that you seem to have taken your animals in to give them a better life than what they may have if you didn't.

First of all, did anyone bother to check out the website? Its a great thing they do!
At first sight of 40 cats, it sounded terrible, but I looked at the pictures. All the cats look to be well cared for, they've got food, they aren't dirty, they're all fixed, and the people that made that website look like they really care for the animals, and they do a good job at it. I can't help you with the cat thing, because I'm personally allergic, but good luck! I'm glad to see someone out there who cares for animals like that.

All my cats were indoor cats, with the exception of a brother & sister I had many, many years in the past, lengthy in the previous I grew to change right into a vet tech & animal rights activist. I truly have on condition that realized about the affliction & torture those animals bear as for this reason of ignorant, lazy, detached those who don't have their pets spayed & neutered, vaccinated, or the different style of known or emergency veterinary care. *** i'm so sorry for the animals (& their vendors) that were abused, injured, & killed as for this reason of being allowed to roam outdoors, & on the fingers of ill & sadistic people in all walks of existence. There are merely such an incredible style of evil & wicked human beings contained in the global in the present day, i visit no longer help yet ask your self even as, the position & how that is all going to end. Cruelty & violence hostile to animals, women human beings, & babies is a real away results of an uninformed & apathetic public~Cruelty in any variety is impressive & scary, b/c it shows an entire lack of intelligence & compassion, a lack of morals, of understanding authentic from incorrect, & no "experience of authentic and incorrect" by any ability. Cruelty places no fee on the existence of any residing creature, & takes savour causing discomfort & suffering on others, no remember the species. *** Bonsylar, even as i'm happy to work out that you've self assurance cats should be kept interior, i'm no longer so satisfied about your glaring causes, which look better about your trees & backyard better than any genuine situation for the definitely safe practices of the cats & organic world?

well thats good that you love your kitties and the way it looked that you really keep your home very well maintained unlike others that i have seen in the past. they would have all these kittens and their home would look gross. your website is cute i like it, and that is a good thing that you have them fixed. the cats are cute and look very happy. your dog looks like he ejoys the company from them. good luck with all your kittys. i only have one and she is a blue seal point siamese and she is the most independant cat that i have ever owned, but that is ok i rescued her from the shelter and that was a blessing that she was there for me to find and bring home. my family loves her and she loves all of us.

Is it legal to have that many cats in your home? I don't know what the laws are in Canada...
"Hoarding" or "Collecting" is a psychological disorder. It occurs when animal lovers or rescuers take on more animals than they can manage or are for; thus, they unintentionally become passive abusers themselves. Hoarding can becomes both a cruelty issue and a public safety (health) issue.
