I have been seeing a guy for 2 months now and I am gothic. He is a preppy and wants me to become a prep 2. We both REALLY like eachother and all but his friends and parents hate me. what do I do??? Please Help me!

No person is worth losing your identity over. If he truly likes you for you, then he wouldn't ask you to change. What if the roles were reversed and you asked him to be gothic? Do you think he would do it? Apparently he doesn't appreciate you for your unique and special qualities. There are plenty of guys out there who will like you for the fabulous gothic chick you are. You shouldn't have to change for anyone. Good luck to you!

To thine ownself be true.
Be who you are, but be the best that you are. Want to dress/be gothic... go for it. But don't let it make you be disrespectful or hurtful (not that you are). People will look past the fashion to see the real person, at least most will eventually. And if that person is good for thier friend/son...than they will let the rest go.

Well, I guess after 60 days, you've discovered that you 2 don't have a whole lot in common, which is the purpose of dating: to see if you have things in common. It's fine to like him, but why be with someone who wants you to change, and whose parents and friends hate you?
What do yo do? Find someone with whom you are more compatible and have more in common with. Or, change yourself to please him, his parents and his friends. It's your choice.

UGH! Goth chicks are so f***ing hot. I get the feeling that you're underaged though.
But regardless... Goths = Hot + Rare.
Preps = Common

Stay who you are! I can not say this with enough conviction,its not that he doesn't like you for who you are its that he likes you so much he would try anything to get others that he cares about to like you too, stay true to your charater and don't conform to what he wants if he can not deal with the fact that you want to date him and not his family or friends then end it. and niether of you should care about what others think if you make each other happy

You can't change who you are. If he and his family can't accept you for who you are and what you believe in then what good is it for? Yeah you two may like eachother but if you are not comfortable with him trying to change you then it's not worth it. BUT, if you are willing to sacrifice on changing your appearance then it is something to think about.

You shouldnt change who u are for anyone. If he dosent like u for who u are them he dosent deserve to be with u. I think u shold find somebody who u like and who will accept u for u. If he really liked u then he wouldnt want u to change in the 1st place!!

so long as he likes you it should not matter what his friends and famliy think. him having guts to do what he thinks is right,"going out with you," shows how much color that he has. stay with him! now should you change? that is up to you. you will have to deside that on your own. just talk to him. its easy'r said than done, but you need to talk to him about that. good luck.
