No one should ever hurt an animal - there is a reason she is doing this. If you don't live with your dad and only come over for short visits ask him to put the cat in another room while you are there like you would a dog. If you do live with him or have to have extended visits where keeping the animal and you separated will not work then you can try having some of her favorite treats on you and giving them to her or tuna or shrimp if she likes that and see if she likes you better. If this doesn't help just avoid each other like you would a human you don't care for.

My sister and her husband have always had at least one cat. They adopted an abandoned cat that had been abused by neighborhood children. Everytime the cat would hear the rumble and children coming down the street, it would go crazy. It would scratch my sister & husband.
Just keep your distance (or tell dad to put the cat in another room before you come over) and be kind and understanding. You don't know what this cat might have been through.

With most animals, you need to gain its respect, and not encourage it thinking that you're a toy to play with.
When my cat got playful and wanted to chew on my hands for some reason, I would gently push him away with the other hand. If he got out of control, I would pick him up and hold him (sometimes with a towel on top of him) in such a way that he couldn't bite me. That nomally calmed him down. In the extreme cases where it didn't, he'd get a "time out" in the bathroom. Once he realized that he couldn't play with me with his claws out, he'd think of better ways to do it.
Try introducing toys when your dad's cat seems interested in using you as a chew toy. Re-direct its interest and energy into an acceptable form.

Dont hurt the cat. Cats are extremely sensitive and if you hurt it, the cat will have more anger for you.
Just stay out of its way, "ignore" it. If it comes up to you and bites, scratches etc. I suggest you ask your dad to do something about it.
Maybe you should try and bring it a toy (with catnip in it). I dunno, just a suggestion.
I have 5 cats and one is something like your dads. I just ignore her and try and stay out of her way.
Good Luck!!!

O.K..this is gonna sound kinda crazy...but I Guarantee you it works. Get a kitty cage, and leave the cat in a graveyard over night. After that the cat will be docile as a newborn baby. Some people say this works because the cats can hear the screams of the sinful people being tortured in thier graves, and they get scared into being docile.

There are a few ways to handle it.
If you have tried to be nice then obviuosly the cat is going to have issues no matter what.
The way I broke my cat of that was I would scuff him (so he couldnt attack me) and smack his a$$ a few times. Get close to his face (WHILE STILL IN SCUFF MODE) and in a low deep voice say "You dont do that". Took a little while, but he got the idea that he is not boss.

Just leave the cat alone. It doesn't want to be bothered. Could try feeding it some tunafish. Will probably still not want to be bothered after it's through eating.

Try to befriend her by giving her her favourite food. Don't be too lound when she is around - cats like quiet loving people. Pretend that you don't notice her and wait for her to come and aske you to pet her. Remember, cats come when they want to, not when they are asked!
P.S. Have you considered removing her nails???It's good not only for your nails, but also for the furniture ;)
Good luck!!!

Cats are very territorial animals. She/He has to warm up to you. Give it a name, some some extra attention, get it spaded or nuetered, clip its claws, cat nip, special cat food and of course always keep its litter box clean!
