What am I to do when my heart says leave, but my feet won't move?

Answer this: can an architect construct a house with just the blueprints? No; he needs the tools, the money, the time, and the coworkers to get it done. Your heart is the blueprint; your mind serves as the tools.

You have identified the course of action you have to take, but your feet won't move because of this:

If you think in terms of human biology, which part of your body dictates to the rest of your entire body? The brain. Your HEART says, "Leave," but now you have to get your brain to agree. You're still in the mindset of "I can't find the strength to walk away from this." So develop that thought in your brain, and THEN tell your feet to move.

You should talk to him and see what's going on. It's probably because you're bored of him and the sparks aren't there anymore. People usually feel that way after dating a guy for a long period of time.

My friend has been dating her boyfriend for 6 years now. Her boyfriend just recently proposed and she accepted it. However, she told me that the feeling isn't there anymore, so she told him that she doesn't want to get married until 2008. Usually, there's got to a problem between the both of you that makes you feel this way. I believe my friend and her boyfriend are not compatible with each other since they alway argue; especially on everything.

Well yeah. maybe a little break will make you see you want to be with him or prove you are done. usually after two years the hormones stop racing with the intended partner. sorry about the typoes I'm not really in the mood to make the wording perfect. Sometimes you just need air alone and see how the world is outside the relationship.

Maybe he feels the same way. Have you talked to him? If not, you really should because if you wait even longer, it can hurt both of you. Just get out of the relationship now. Who knows, there could be that one guy for you looking but you're taken and not happy. Just make sure this isn't just a phase because i thought i wanted to leave my boyfriend too but for reasons and i thought it was stupid and i was lost without him. You could also take a break for awhile to sort out your feelings but if you're sure. Talk to him and tell him. Good luck!

Instead of wondering if you should leave maybe you should be wondering what you could do to make things better. If your not felling him now that does not mean its completely over. Tell hin your not happy then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. talk about what it is your missing or needing. Seek help it you can do it your self. At the very least think about what he would want you to do for once in your life.

You should tell him exactly where you stand, preferably in a public place where you can both relax and speak fairly openly and make sure there are few(if any) hard feelings or common belongings in question when you do. Don't wait, don't lie and for God's sake don't try and soften the blow and use the word 'friendship in the brush-off!!! If he's a big boy, he'll take it in stride and take it like a man.

YES! You have to do what makes you happy. Trust yourself, you know it no longer feels right. You need to get back to yourself and make your self happy. By staying with your boyfriend any longer will only bring you down. Besides it is not fair for him to believe he is still in a loving relationship. It may be painful at the beginning, but in the end you will both be much happier.

You have to imagine what you will feel like when he is not there. Will you miss him? I was ok being single but then I met a really great guy and we were together 3 months, its ended now but I miss so many little things we did in such a short time. Think about it...

Are you bored or you just don't love him anymore? All relationships go thru their ho-hum periods, even marriages. I love my wife, but there are lots of times when I'm just not madly in love with her. It passes and then I realize how much she means to me. If you're sure that you don't love him anymore, you spend a lot of time thinking about being with other people, then maybe you should break it off. Just don't be too hasty.

Leaving him isn't going to make the world end, life goes on - so just get it over with.
