I have been called a traitor to my country. Is that how you view American Christian converts and why? If so why do you all preach freedom of religion. Or is being free to believe as I choose and being excepted two different things. I personally don't care who likes it or not, I would not choose my religion on what others thought, I do it on my own beliefs and I do it for God. I was just wondering why alot of people point fingers and other countries who may or may not be tolerant of other religions when so many Americans are the same way and just as violent, its just not televised as much. There are many many hate crimes against Muslims in America that don't make the 5 o'clock news. I am not judging by any means. If you hate me that is your choice. I just am tired of hearing how America is so great and so tolerant and you can be free, when its not like that. Yes I have met a lot of nice people who are tolerant to me, but I have met so many that are not. Whats your thoughts on this.

I was a true believer in Christianity before I converted. I was saved and believed in Jesus as the son of God with all my heart. But after study and reflection of my faith I choice Islam over Christianity.

If you honestly feel that Christianity is wrong for you and Islam is right, by all means don't be ashamed or offended or anything. The Muslims that have carried out attacks against the US have been radicals, people that do not believe the same things most do. The way Americans behave toward Muslims is rediculous. Yes, we have to be careful simply because the latest few attacks have been Muslim driven. But we would feel the same way if the attacks had been carried out by yound white males for example.

I am an American, and getting more and more ashamed as the days go by. We are not the great country people think we are. We have a lot of problems I'm sorry to say. But if you want to convert to Islam, I say more power to you and good luck!!!

Your last line points the thing out. Not all people are tolerant. Yes people call America a great country but it doesn't necessarily mean Americans are also great. I've been living in NY and already saw how Muslims are sometimes mistreated and discriminated. I was also a victim of racial commenets by a white old man. So this happens, again I saw a bunch of wonderful non-Muslim people.

No you are not a traitor to your country. You just converted and that doesn't make you a traitor. You can always work for America and live a peaceful life by following it's rules and regulations. Whoever calls you a taitor is a mere imbecile who is not worth to be paid any attention.

I think what it comes down to is each individual. Some people like me don't care what you do. I think the majority of people all around the world just want to be left alone and live there days happily with there families. It is other people that try to push there values upon you. I was at an airport and this guy had a Bible in one hand and a Quran in the other. He was trying to show me the coralation between the two books. I told him what I know. I believe a very long time ago they started fighting over what days to do what, and this created the division and the speration of beliefs. The truth is that everyone wanted to worship the God of Abraham but had different views on how to do this. So they started a war. Now thats what sparked all this crap. That's why they fight over the places and times to worship. But before that, Moses recieved the commandments from the great mountain God. This then started the twin cults of Judaism. The first five books of Moses are included in both the Bible and the Quran. These books were originaly called the Tora and were amongst the first Judaic or Pharisee laws. From their everything else branched out into seperate religions around the world. So you see its not whats is right anymore. Man has put his hand on what God said, and twisted it into his own belief and causing wars amongst nations for thousands of years. I think what it comes down to is whether you believe God came here and was crucified for everyone, not just one paticular group. As for virgins waiting on the otherside, pffff get real you will crave nothing of the flesh or any sin when its over. Jesus is mentioned in both books, and this man truley walked in peace without sin to tell how the father wants us all to live. So we did to him what we are still doing to each other. So look at it for what it is, and walk in the peace of the light my friend. Oh yeah, Moses in Egyptian dialect means the one who understand the stars..Study and lead with your heart and you won't be led wrong. After all this is what God will judge in every man. He will look at the intent of our hearts behind every action we performed while we were here.

Hello, I didn't know much about the Islamic religion until I met people on line that are of this faith and we have become like Brothers and Sisters. From what I can tell this religion has many good points and the people that I have met are very kind. I agree 100% about the fact that Americans portrait ourselves as so good and tolerant of all. Bull crap....look at our past. How many people have we slaughtered over the years? Indians...Blacks...Gays...you name it we justify it. Americans can claim to be so understanding and a country that promotes freedom of speech and religion. Look around, is that really the case at all, I don't think so. Good luck with your new faith. and Happy Ramadan !!!!!

1. I don't care what religion you converted from, I consider all converts to all religions to be deluded.

2. In this country, it is the LAW that you can worship as you choose and attend any church you choose. No one can legally stop you or discriminate against you for your religion. This is not true in many countries. If you decide to emmigrate to Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan, Libya or various other Islamic countries, you will discover that this is NOT the case there.

3. Any convert to any religion is going to receive criticism from people of other religions. The nature of most religions is lack of tolerance for any religion other than their own. Are you only discovering this now? That's hard to believe.

You stated, "I just am tired of hearing how America is so great and so tolerant and you can be free, when its not like that."

Hey you made your choice. That's what is so great about living in America. Freedom of religion and freedom of speech. American Christians have to tolerate hate speech against Jesus everyday. If you don't appreciate America, then why don't you move to an Islamic country?

Honestly, if you believed one thing with "all your heart" why would you convert to a religion that is a big part of the lives of those who felt they were doing right by their faith by killing so many Americans on 9-11-01 and continually throughout this war? It should be something for you to think about in more depth. What made you convert to Islam? Why does it feel right to you all of a sudden, instead of your last religion? You know what makes sense to me? Atheism. I used to be a christian, and was raised that way by my parents. But, as I got older and re-examined the religion and others as well, I found that they all were just crazy, and relied upon fantastic stories of power and magic that belonged in a fairy-tale book, not a serious belief system for people to live their lives by. Please, don't group yourself in with people who are ignorant of the modern world. It makes you look stupid, honestly. I am tolerant of people's religious beliefs, as long as they do not use them to justify murder and war. Where do you stand on that simple issue? Do you hope for a death in war killing people in order to have some fun with 72 virgins after you die? How does that really make sense? Please, be real, life is too short to waste on your knees faceing east for no good reason. Come back to reality. America is great and tolerant, but by no means perfect.

You are free to chose your faith here. If you were a Muslim converting to Christianity in Saudi Arabia, you would have your head cut off.

Has anyone cut your head off?

We allow Mosques here, we allow Muslims to preach openly in our prisons and anywhere they wish.

Can Christians do the same in Muslim Countries? Absolutely not. It is Illegal to have a copy of the new Testament in Saudi Arabia.

Google Islam in Iran, or Islam in Sudan, see what you find.

I know many very good Muslim people, I don't bash the whole faith, I know you are following a false prophet, but so are the Mormons, that is your right to worship as you wish!

I just wish Christians had that same right in Muslim Countries, I would LOVE to go to Iran and start a Catholic Parish, and discuss Jesus openly. But that can't happen.

Don't believe everything the Imam's tell you! Search for the truth for yourself!

Peace, and may God Bless you!

Assalamu alaikum dear brother/sister,

May Allah bless you for your effort to find the Truth! May Allah make you knowledgable in Islamic studies.

It must be difficult to be a convert in U.S. or for that matter in any non-muslim country. Please consider migrating to an Islamic country if you feel too much intolerance and oppression in your hometown. Or you could move to a state that has more Muslim population.

Intolerance will always be there, it has been there during the time of the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and it still persists all over the world. Therefore we Muslims need to be stong and should not abandon our Islamic duties (i.e praying, fasting, teaching Islam to our kids..etc). Please remember that the reward of a Muslim who lives in the intolerant community will be much greater than a Muslim living in a Muslim country. Allah rewards everybody accordingly, and none of your effort will go unrewarded. So brother/sister stay strong!

Lastly, I hope you are having a blessed Ramadhan. May Allah accept your fast and all your good deeds. Ameen.
